How to remove mini quad motor C-clips

Is there a secret magical way to remove these C-clips without breaking or losing them??

use a C-clips pliers (that work reversed), and do it inside of a plastic bag so it doesn't go flying

Got a pair of c-clip pliers from home Depot had to grind down one of the tips to work on smaller clips.
Purchased a bag of c-clips off the interwebs.
Once you take it off its pretty much not a dependable clip anymore..

Side note. I gave up on motors with clips and cant convince myself to look at any of them with it.
I have the emax 2205s.
The screw alone makes life bett

Coming from mostly automotive c-clips, 9 times out of 10 we just replace them with new.

I normally toss my c-clips and install e-clips instead. They are much easier to remove/install. They are cheap on eBay and 2.5mm works for a 3mm shaft
