34 The problem with these screens is the overhanging glass plate at the bottom corners. they are very thin and doesn't have any support underneath. I had my module in my pocket while testing the nextwave, and when I took it out, one of the corners where shattered. It looks like La Forge has fixed this by putting a thin metal plate protector around the screen so you can't apply pressure to the glass at the corners.
I filled the gap between the glass and the print card with some hot glue so we'll just see how that holds up

0 Fair enough, are the firmware developments really worth keeping up with that regularly? Plugged mine in when I got it, has been fine, no real need to update it from my perspective unless I'll suddenly get +20% range. I actually think there's an update for mine to add more channels but I really don't need them so haven't bothered yet - in fact completely forgot about it until now. Probably should do that sometime!

34 09-Dec-2016, 09:00 AM (This post was last modified: 09-Dec-2016, 09:02 AM by oyvinla.) They are quite interesting and offers easier ways to operate the unit. On one of them you don't need too look at the module to change channels and bands. The developer also states it has better filters for switching so the image is maybe better, but the range should be the same. But since my screen cracked, and every other line on the display was not working, I went back to the laforge fw1. 6 because I wasn't familiar with the other fw, and it wasn't so easy to read the small text on the ruined screen.
If you bought the module some time ago, it could be worth updating to the latest firmware as it fixed some channels being wrong.
I try different fw to check out the latest and greatest, but I don't think it is worth trying for people that just wants something that works
