5 26-Jan-2016, 10:33 PM (This post was last modified: 26-Jan-2016, 10:33 PM by fpvmonkey.) All I can suggest is to find the biggest grassed area you can so that you're not concerned with overshooting and crashing into somewhere/something.
Also, try to fly with a spotter. They can tell you where you are in the area as you lose quite a lot of peripheral even with a wide angle lens. Mine has a 170 FOV.
I love to share and help people! Flying Mini Quad is the best!

0 There is no replacement for actual stick-time. You are going to be nervous for awhile but pretty soon you'll think nothing of it.
If you are flying around people, cars, or buildings, you better be nervous because you shouldn't be flying there. Get out to a huge field be free!

1 more batteries. fly more. fly till you're bored. fly it like you stole it. altitude is your friend.
BUT make sure its the right area. Safety First.
I still get nervous after my 7th maiden flight build. then about three batteries later I'm reminding myself to stay within limits.

30 Drink a heap of Redbull before a flight..as Redbull gives you wings! BOOM BOOM.
Seriously though, When I first started FPV flying I would get nervous on my way to the flying area, and even when plugged in the lipo on the quad my hands would have a bit of shake, Then putting the goggles on and just looking at the view had my heart rate starting to go up, as I was sitting down to fly I also find one leg would start tapping up and down. As soon as I applied power and lifted off most of that disappeared.
Now, some 12 months later it does not happen at all before a flight, of course there are times while flying and you have a OMG moment you can feel your heart start racing again.
I think a lot of it was also down to the fact you spent hours making this wonderful creation and are shit scared to break it, so you make yourself nervous by thinking of all the "what if's".
I think it is all perfectly normal.
Once you start flying just remind yourself to have fun, don't worry about what others will think of your videos (if you share them), for even if some do not admit it, we have all been there done that.
Just have fun and fly safe. :-)

6 More stick time! It's completely understandable that you are nervous because you are a brand new pilot. Confidence and calm will come with control and mastery.
Sometimes nervousness is trying to alert you to a risk. Mitigate every risk you can: choose the safest possible flying spot and check over your equipment before you fly. Rehearse what you're going to do before you get up in the air.
Find a wide open space with soft ground and fly lots of packs in it. That's the only real cure!
