2 I use an FrSky X4R receiver. They come with the last inch or so of the receiver antenna exposed. I just picked up some nice 3D printed parts that let me mount the antennas to the standoffs on my frame. No more ugly zip-tie solution for me. Except the tubes on this completely cover the X4R antenna in plastic. Is this going to be a problem? It's been rainy the last few days so I haven't flown with it yet. Will it reduce my signal or not really have any effect? I always fly at home on a couple acres so no long distance for me.

23 As long as the tubes are plastic or something that is basically non conductive, it should have no appreciable effect on your range.

2 Awesome. Flew it this weekend, 0 problems. Even flew outside my regular distance. These things handled crashes so much better than zip ties and heat shrink.

30 I might chop one RX antenna off every 30 to 40 flights, always have about 10 spares with me, easy to replace. in the field.

One thing to be aware (though i haven't verified myself, just read about it) : some shrink tubes or plastic parts are said to use kind of a carbon dust to get the black color. In this case it would matter.
Hmmmm....I hadn't thought about that....but if it's true, I would think you're absolutely right.
