How do i repair this?
#1
I have a flysky fsia6b receiver, I just replaced the entire receiver and my first flight out chopped tip right off.. idk how.. but it has this barrel antenna at the end so idk if I can just cut it off and do a standard 2.4ghz repair.. also I have extras but they are soldered in. If anybody can help i would really appreciate it

Heres a photo

I can't tell for the photo whether the barrel came off or not. You can just do a normal 32mm exposure, get rid of barrel and it should work. You might get less range. Otherwise, you are looking for a BODA antenna replacement.

I'd replace it if I were you. The IA6B is a telemetry receiver, so it's a transmitter as well.

As the output stage of the IA6B is already tuned for a sleeved dipole, just replacing it with a monopole could damage the output stage and kill your telemetry function.

The thinner tip that comes out of the barrel got chopped off.

I have the same 10 channel RX th board is shot. The antenna leads are still good though. Could i use those? Also If I can use them.. Could you point me in the direction or tell me how to solder it? Is the outside mesh the ground?

is the end of the BODA antenna, the center wire, just a single insulated wire without the grounding mesh?? In other words is the barrel the end of the mesh? If I just get the length of the end wire correct i could just solder it back in??

The centre wire doesn't connect to the metal sleeve, the outer connector is connected inside the sleeve at the top so that the sleeve and sleeveless centre wire make the two sides of a dipole antenna.

You might be able to solder a bit of wire on the stub that's left, but that would mean that part of the stub will be insulated and part uninsulated. That's not going to give good results. It's easier just to replace the complete antenna and make sure that it is mounted so that it can't get into the propellers.

Ok thank you unseen! You have so much knowledge on this stuff I appreciate you! I played around with my bad rx yesterday De soldered the antenna and soldering it back in then checking it with a multi meter I think I can do it!

Also I'm gonna be down for a while, the top plate of my frame snapped in half and the vtx broke again... this time I lost the vtx antenna.. I'm gonna get a new frame and vtx with a better mounting solution when Christmas is over
