How do I know if my goggles are on the channel with the TBS crossfire VTX?
#1
Thank you ?? INFOFPV, for your solid information into assistance new pilots like me
With your help over last couple of years, I have learned a lot about wiring FPV, programming through Betaflight
I bought TBS crossfire VTX so I can get the best video feed. Currently I am not sure if I am on the right frequency. I get lines in video feed through my goggles and what is the best to wire the camera, VTX
How do I know if my goggles are on the channel with the TBS crossfire VTX?
I have been flying a lot lately in my own built micro quad and four inch quad in self leveling mode, I have gotten better with small stick movements I want to get into flying in acro mode …what is your best suggestion, open field, really high up in the air. I have an older computer and If I was trying using simulator my pc is very slow I don’t it feel like the real thing . What are basis I need to work on. I would appreciate your best suggestions … thank you

What goggles are you using? Avoid auto scanning or auto tuning band/channel on the goggles. Manually tune in a frequency.

I assume you have the TBS Unify VTX (not crossfire as Crossfire is an RC control link). The TBS Unify has a series of led blinks that will give you an indication what band/channel/power you are on. You will also need to unlock the VTX for higher powers which you can do via the button clicking menu. If you give us the exact model, we can point you towards the correct led and button sequence.

Wiring has to be Camera --> FC video in and FC video out --> VTX. You can skip the FC and direct wire the camera to the vtx but then you will have no OSD which is important for voltage monitoring etc.

Learning to fly acro: open field, not very high and not very far as you may lose video and lose the quad. I will say stay in the center of a big football field and fly around yourself and so you stay within range. Stay at least 3m above the ground but do not exceed about 10m. Stay away from people and their pets and property.
