I am looking at building a 'Mostly Printed CNC' which looks very capable and easy to build at home. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:724999 Has anyone built a CNC machine, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Current quad: ZMR 250 / DYS SE2205 / Littlebee 20A ESCs / Drone Lab 1500 4S / Naze32 Rev5 / BF 2.7.1 FPV: Runcam Skyplus / Aomway 200mw VTX / Fatshark DomV1 >>>>>>>>>> Check Out My Build<<<<<<<<<< • Posts: 71 Threads: 18 Likes Received: 30 in 15 posts Likes Given: 43 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 6 02-Mar-2016, 01:45 PM (This post was last modified: 02-Mar-2016, 01:47 PM by daprato.) I got my electronics working, ordered my linear bearing from banggood. Stay tuned, I'll post on my blog, youtube and here a step by step. New for me, but it seams to not be too complicated. And this build will cost not much! • Posts: 391 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 50 in 41 posts Likes Given: 56 Joined: Feb 2016 Reputation: 8 02-Mar-2016, 03:20 PM (This post was last modified: 02-Mar-2016, 09:44 PM by HamsterFPV.) Looking good so far. The design I am going to build uses a RAMPS board, which I am already familiar with due to my 3D printer. Those EasyDrivers look good. Also what voltages are your motors going to be running at and what spindle are you going to use? HamsterFPV: I'm using a small powersupply of 12V 2.5A, as suggested on other build on the web. Don't know how much voltage needed from each motor. Didn't calculate since I found more than one build and sketches organised like that. My CNC will be "desktop" size if I can say, so I'll cut 1 inche square max, splindle is a used Dremel bought for 10$ to pawnshop. Cheap for starting. http://drones-xp.blogspot.ca/2016/02/des...duino.html Linear bearings ordered with banggood, hope my plan will work. Sketching the 3d blueprint in 3dsmax actually. • Posts: 391 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 50 in 41 posts Likes Given: 56 Joined: Feb 2016 Reputation: 8 (06-Mar-2016, 03:02 AM)daprato Wrote: HamsterFPV: I'm using a small powersupply of 12V 2.5A, as suggested on other build on the web. Hey, HamsterFPV, where you are with your CNC ? I built mine, got some problems. I'll create a post soon on the mistake that I made instead of a normal step-by-step tuto. http://drones-xp.blogspot.ca/ • Posts: 391 Threads: 23 Likes Received: 50 in 41 posts Likes Given: 56 Joined: Feb 2016 Reputation: 8 (12-Apr-2016, 07:01 PM)daprato Wrote: Hey, HamsterFPV, where you are with your CNC ? The CNC looks really good, do you have any videos of it running? Not yet, will start another thread soon, cheers Just start cutting CF, working with a imprecision of 0.2mm, enough for homemade frame, but less beautiful than perfect clean cuts of my ZMR • Posts: 71 Threads: 18 Likes Received: 30 in 15 posts Likes Given: 43 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 6 Here's a lot of details about my build in case it could help ! https://oscarliang.com/diy-cnc-machine-m...tor-frame/ Posts: 1 Threads: 0 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 1 Joined: Jul 2016 Reputation: 0 (21-May-2016, 01:39 AM)daprato Wrote: Here's a lot of details about my build in case it could help ! https://oscarliang.com/diy-cnc-machine-m...tor-frame/ Awesome post, thanks so mucch • Posts: 53 Threads: 11 Likes Received: 27 in 19 posts Likes Given: 15 Joined: May 2017 Reputation: 0 Hi HamsterFpv, I have a homemade CNC. I started to control it with one cheap board control, TB6560 3 axis all in one, work on mach3. Step by step I hacked the board because this board lose some steps. Next the board control works fine but not great. Later I bought a Arduino Cnc shield but I dont liked the software, to much simple for me, but for someone that never try it its great. Next I bought individual steppers drivers and 5 axis interface board, for Mach3 again(great software for me).
