Googles are coming but I haven’t wanted to drop the money on them just yet. One of the modules in my Boscam receiver went out and I couldn't fix it so I had to replace it. Up until my Boscam crapped out it was working fine...good clear picture. I’d like to get a little feedback from those of you that may own a Hobby King Quanum Diversity Receiver which is what I replaced it with. First off, the power connector is a total piece of . I don’t know why the use those 2.5mm barrel connectors. It’s actually more the socket then it is the connector. All I know is that it does a damn poor job of staying connected. I may hardwire another type of connector in it. However….thats not my question…I just had to vent a bit. When I got the receiver hooked up I really liked it until I noticed the diagonal lines that were scrolling through the picture. It is sometimes worse than others. I went through and replaced all the cables, repositioned them etc., etc. and it is still doing it. I made sure I was using the correct version of PAL or NTSC, which ever was needed…..made no difference. I am powering it off of a 4S battery. Never had this problem with the Boscam. I have tried it with four different quads and it does the same thing no matter which one it is receiving from. I am wondering if this is an inhearant problem with this reciver. Anyone got any thoughts on this? I’m befuddled. Thank you. "Damn the torpedoes!!! I tried to soften those lines by placing a cap on the powerline, but all it did was changing the interference pattern. But other than those lines, signal quality on it is so great that I'm not going to use a non-diversity vrx anymore I'll probably try to fix that in the summer when we all fly more frequently. (Just thinking if it takes 6-18V then maybe the internal regulator is throwing some interference - maybe not tho.) I thought about trying a cap, but I figured since it's coming from a battery, it should be pretty clean power. I am splitting the power from the battery and each component (the VTR and the monitor) have their own feed as opposed to going through one to get to the other. Good to know the cap doesn't really work....I won't waste any time on it. Thanks Konrad "Damn the torpedoes!!! The lines, when they appear, seem to be at a different angle, but they are still there. I'll report back if I figure out whats going on...thanks for the help guys! "Damn the torpedoes!!! Damn Scotty.....you sir, are a virtual fountain of ideas! No I have not, but that is now at the top of the list, along with trying a filtered power supply. Don't wann use one of those due to the inconvienance, but I am curious to see if it makes a difference. Thanks for your help. "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" Two batteries, no lines. I'm not sure when or even IF I would have thought of trying that, but it worked. Hope Konrad is listening. I guess because one power supply (battery or not) is powering both devices, any "noise" from one device has a path to the other. In any case, thank you very much for the help, it is greatly appreciated!! "Damn the torpedoes!!! Full speed ahead!!!" (I'm not sure how you are wiring your setup, and I don't know enough about capacitors to know if it would make any difference but I'm picturing a "Y" from both + and -. Don't know if a cap before the "Y" would be any different than a cap to the monitor after the "Y". Not sure I'm explaining accurately what I'm thinking.... ) • Posts: 2,416 Threads: 51 Likes Received: 1,861 in 1,175 posts Likes Given: 3,315 Joined: Mar 2016 Reputation: 74 Monitor VRx \ / \ / |_C_| |_C_| \ \ / / \ \ / / \ \_______________/___/___ (-) (+)___\_________________/ Bat - Bat+ capacitors (C) after "Y's" • Posts: 1,070 Threads: 70 Likes Received: 742 in 378 posts Likes Given: 577 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 44 (14-Feb-2017, 09:09 PM)sloscotty Wrote: Monitor VRx \ / \ / |_C_| |_C_| \ \ / / \ \ / / \ \_______________/___/___ (-) (+)___\_________________/ Bat - Bat+ capacitors (C) after "Y's" I have placed a cap before Y.
