Hi there !
#1
Wink
Hi all, im new on this forum, not at all new with FPV.  I fly racequad for about 1,5 years now.
My first quad was a secondhand 250 sized Quanum Neon.

That one died in the air, ( XT60 got out ), and broke into several pieces.. :/
( Later on, i used the parts to create my LEGO-quad )

After this, i build my own. A Diatone Tyrant 215. After a while, i wanted to go faster,
so i build my Obsession (D-Quad). This one is fast ! :Smile With KISS FC and KISS ESC, 2206 2300KV motors.

My latest Quad, is the Diatone GT200 2017. THIS IS A BEAST ! With about 100 MPH, my fastest quad.

This one has a blackbox built in. And thats why i joined this forum. I find it really hard to tune a betaflight quad. Even with blackbox.
The KISS FC quads, ( Obsession, and the Tyrant )  are pretty well tuned.

But the betaflight ( Diatone GT200 2017 quad ) is hard for me to tune.  Hope to learn a lot here about the tuning precess with blackbox.

Nice to meet you all here, and lets get those quads flying !  Big Grin Big Grin

By the way, i have a youtube channel, if you want to take a look.
Search for chris van de fliert.
I even have a video of my LEGO 250 sized miniquad. It even does flips and roll !!.. Smile

Welcome! Sounds like you have the same addiction we all have, you should fit right in.

There are some good threads here on blackbox tuning with links to good info. If you don't find answers there don't hesitate to start your own thread in the tuning section.

thnx.
I did record a blackbox log, and magnaged to get it line-up with the video i made. ( Mobius MINI HD).
So far, so good. And i am allready learning a lot about blackbox. The 101 blackbox movies  from Joshua Bardwell are a good start.
But at the end, it all comes to a good self-diagnostics about your own blackbox reading...

I will read, and learn as much as i can. Tnx. Thumbs Up

I love liftoff... it's my personal favorite simulator. DRL is OK too but I cant seem to fly it anymore for some reason lol.

They both are so different...

But i managed to get them both as close as my obsession quad.
My LiftOff quad is in fact the save frame... :Smile  obsession D-Quad.

I use liftoff mostly for practising my freestyle ( Jack's freestyle cube ).
DRL, is more for fun cruising, and racing. I like parking lots.. Smile

Hi SPeCTRuM and welcome!

How did you get on with your tuning? Did you find the help you needed and get your GT200 flying like you wanted?

Hi there, Unseen.

Thanks for asking.
I have made a Log and video. ( It was very dificult to go flying, as it rains a lot lately )...
First blackbox was at 4kh, so i could only record 3/4 of one flight.
So i set it to 1 Kh, and now i can record like 3 flights.
But... I managed to get a video and log together.

I have made a video from the log. Reading/analizing it is still hard.

First problem i have, When i sync the video and log, i want to save it. But i can't.
Everytime i close the blackbox explorer, i have to Redo all the sync work again. I can export to video, but then i cant put different graphs into the log anymore.
So, How do i save the log+Video combination, so i can analize on a later time, without having to sync again ?

You can't. You just need to make a note of the sync points so that you can go directly to the correct time.

I'm surprised that you don't get a good tune with the defaults in Betaflight. What behaviour are you trying to tune out?

Got it. I now add the sync point   +22.705  at the LOG file...  ( I rename LOGfile to : LOG 04-11-2017-01-22.725.BBL  = date / logNR / sync.time )
When i load log, and vid, i put in the sync point. and done. Thanks.

im just new to blackbox. And i used KISS FC before. I allways had trouble with clleanflight/betaflight., Thats why i switched to KISS FC on my other builds.

But i wanted this diatone GT200 2017 quad soooooo bad !..

I have a lot of oscilations, i tried 5152 props at first, then went to Dalprop Cyclones  t5045c ( Which i have on my Obsession quad, and that is an awesome combo ).. But still i have oscilations.

I have the stock PIDS on betaflight still... and before i mess up, i want to understand blackbox and tuning more.
I have the first vid ready.
Maybe that will explain it all...  Undecided

It was a very bad rainy and windy day, yesterday....
