Tried allsorts but really loving the quads and had limited success with FPV. New to the quads and would love some help. I have a Turnigy 9X with stock firm ware and FRSKY DJT module. Just bought a Eachine QX90 and having dramas setting it up. It was easy to bind, but having problems with just getting it to fly. Can it be done or am I wasting my time? Thanks • Posts: 918 Threads: 83 Likes Received: 533 in 271 posts Likes Given: 498 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 30 Hi Croaker, welcome to the forum. I cant help you with your problem though, but chances are very good someone here can. Good Luck. • Posts: 5,315 Threads: 672 Likes Received: 3,155 in 1,743 posts Likes Given: 2,030 Joined: Jan 2016 Reputation: 139 20-Oct-2016, 11:35 AM (This post was last modified: 20-Oct-2016, 11:36 AM by Oscar.) Welcome Croaker, could you elaborate on what the problems are? by the way this is the wrong section asking technical help • Posts: 6 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 0 (20-Oct-2016, 11:35 AM)Oscar Wrote: Welcome Croaker, could you elaborate on what the problems are? by the way this is the wrong section asking technical help Thanks Oscar, Sorry to all for posting in the wrong spot. Really should have read all the destructions! Anyway the issue is that the qx90 will bind OK to the 9x (original FW) and I did manage to get it to bind to the quad, but was obviously in the wrong mode because it was powering up with elevator control. I did check the settings and it was in acro and showing mode 2. After connecting to cleanflight the quad powers all motors and will not arm. Just keeps spinning the motors (with battery connected) Also having trouble using the arm switch. Only managed to arm it a couple of times by moving the sticks around. Aux will not work to arm/disarm. The programming and tuning is something that interests me & would love to master but for the time being I will be content with just getting the thing into the air. I guess to be more specific, - How do I stop the motors spinning up when battery connected (motor stop is activated on cleanflight)
- is the stock fw on the 9x able to do the job?
- Is it possible to set up aux switch to arm/disarm?
- What settings do I need to change on the 9x fw for it to work with the qx90.
As I said I have the FRSKY DJT module. I have been flying a SK450 with KK2 board that works well with the 9x. Thanks for your time. C Check out this FAQ http://intofpv.com/forum-brushed-micro-quad To your questions. 1. make sure motor_pwm_rate is set correctly. If still spins, you can try to set min_throttle a bit higher like 1030 or 1060 2. irrelevant to your motor spin problem i think? 3. If you are using PPM (gives you 8 channels), then yes, you can do this in mode tab. but if you have been try to arm it with stick but it doesn't always work, check #3 in the link I posted. 4. You mentioned the TX is working with the quad already? So why are you still trying to change the settings on the TX? • Posts: 6 Threads: 1 Likes Received: 0 in 0 posts Likes Given: 0 Joined: Oct 2016 Reputation: 0 29-Oct-2016, 01:19 PM (This post was last modified: 29-Oct-2016, 01:20 PM by croaker.) Managed to flash Betaflight and got the quad to arm using the aux switch and it does everything as it should except when I hit the receiver tab the 9x does not align with the order. By that I mean set up in Mode two with throttle on left the throttle is working on the right stick that should be ailerons. I have tried changing the modes but none of them are correct & it doesn't look like I can programme these. Thank you for that, this worked. Next issue is the props spin up (not enough to take off) on arming. Do i need to calibrate the ESC's? Tried moving end points but will not turn motors completely off. Had a look in CLI and had a go at resetting targets (1000 to 2000) to compensate. Any ideas? • Posts: 307 Threads: 18 Likes Received: 69 in 48 posts Likes Given: 33 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 9 If you mean that you motors start to spin directly if you arm the quadcopter and you don't want that then you have to do the following thing: Go to the configuration tab and make motor_stop green (enable), if your motor are start twitching then you have to lower the minimum command. Thanks so much Ikkuh. Not sure why I didn't try this, sounds blindingly obvious once I read it. The QX90 flies awesome just need to look at getting better batteries as I am only seeing around 2 minutes. I wish I could say it was 2 minutes of ripping it around, but more like 2 minutes of gentle hover with occasional bumping into things. Anyone got any recommendations for batteries for the QX90? Thanks again. Very happy. • Posts: 307 Threads: 18 Likes Received: 69 in 48 posts Likes Given: 33 Joined: Sep 2016 Reputation: 9 I'm glad to hear that everything is solved, i wish you happy flying. • |
