Hi from London UK
#1
Hey guys.

Long time FPVer here, been building quads since the kk5.5e board days (home brew quads made from plywood centre , eventually moved up to the classic CopterControl board with accels for auto-level functionality, had some hit n miss (mostly miss) experience with the KK2 boards from hobbyking, completely side stepped the multiwii stuff and then took a detour down the fixed wing FPV route for a few years.

Popped back into the world of miniquads a few years back, built a few QAV250 clones and GEPRC Leopards for freestyle (never was able to get to grips with racing, can't do gates). But then got distracted with long range fixed wing FPV yet again.

Had to sell my gear when we moved from Yorkshire (lots of open space) to London (no open space) 2 years ago... but this summer found a good flying spot and bought a few planes.

Recently (last 2 weeks) crashed my only 2 serviceable planes and have some FPV components kicking about, just begging to be used.

I've seen the recent craze of "long range" quads and fancy using one of my FCs and FPV gear in a 7" build. Not really fussed about range though, my aim is focused more on slow cinematic flights and therefore duration/efficiency is more important than flat out straight line distance.

Will pop over to the other parts of the forum to read up on motor/prop combos for the 7" frames I have in mind.

Welcome to the forum!

I commute into London from Essex, and I have enough problems finding spots around me, so I feel your pain!

The ground is for dead people.

Welcome from another UK member Cool

I'm located down in the south too (Oxford area) and also find it problematic locating safe open public places to fly. It all either seems to be private farmland, or land owned by a trust where they prohibit the flying of powered model aircraft in case it disturbs the wildlife Rolleyes

You must have felt spoiled for choice when you were up in Yorkshire Big Grin

Welcome from the middle of the Mojave Desert.  Come fly with us....truly millions of acres of places to fly....and nobody cares. 7 inch is all the craze right now. But I have flown both, 10 inch is the mac daddy.
