Help with Betaflight!
#1
Ok I got my new Bat QX105 now what the hell do I do?

I thought I download Betaflight software but find it's a stupid Chrome App so had to go install a browser I hate so I could manage the Quad.  Especially with Chrome fatal flaws where someone can take over whole system if it's open and idle.. ugg..

Anyway what now?  It doesn't connect when I hit connect on default.  It just talks about flashing firmware.

I can not seem to find a video on first time use of the Betaflight software on how to use it to connect to drone.  Help I am lost now.

Are you connecting to your computer with the USB cable that came with the Bat? Is so, that would be your problem as it's only a charging cable, not data transfer

Ok figured it out the driver was not installing correctly.  Now when I follow this guide..

There is no uart 3 displayed?  Why is that?

Don't know, just enable serial rx on uart 2 and hopefully you'll be OK

Ok finally got it setup.. The info was in the manual and I had to configure the channels like it said. I took it for a 2 minute test flight.. damn I need to turn down the roll and pitch as it moves too fast in one direction right now.. too sensitive for me.. I barely barely move the sticks and it shooting off.

What settings do I need to change this?

BTW this thing has severe power! I held it in my hand and revved it up to verify throttle was going up smooth.. big mistake.. a propeller disappeared and one of the motors was almost completely out of the motor mount.. Wow! This quad has power!

Rc_rate and expo for mid-stick feel. The other (s)rate is for adjusting full stick rates.

If your computer runs well enough, you can use the realtime graphic display to get an impression.

Ok thanks so that drone being shown is a realtime display of what I should see in flight.  If so than yes them settings are way too high I just move stick a bit to the left or right and it rolls like mad.

Does anyone have any example settings to start out with for the QX105? as mentioned above, its really twitchy with the stock settings and its all I can do not to crash with the slightest roll!

The default rates on Betaflight are quite strong. If you look in the PID Tuning page, the graph shows you what the maximum rates are at the end of the sticks.

To reduce those, decrease the values listed under "Super Rate" or "RC Rate". You'll see the graph change to show the effect. You can also increase the RC Expo values to make the sticks less sensitive around the mid point and you'll see the effect of that on the graph as the curve starts to flatten out around the mid point.

The 3D model on that page will show you how the quad will react to your stick inputs as well and should let you judge the effect of your changes.

Hey philmcc I'll connect mine up tomorrow and get you the settings. I really trimmed mine down and I can now hover it indoors in about a 5x5 area without losing control. Never would of dared that with default settings..
