Hello guys, 

I was finally able to make the QAV250 fly here after a week of work.

It looks very good and I´m switching between 2 different flight modes:

• Angle + Baro
  
• Horizon
  

I flew only one battery so I could not determine witch one works best for me at this begging.
But I noticed that I can´t keep the quad hovering stable at any altitude.
I put the throttle at the middle and I either lose altitude slowly, or gain altitude also slowly, I cannot find the middle ground.

I did not have the best conditions for this test flight (garage, not more than 2.5m high) But looks like the FC is not using the barometer to maintain altitude.
I´m sure is a configuration issue because when I check the sensors I can see barometer working and working well, with minimum variation.

Any recommendation ?

nnnaaaa...i was never told that...but if i did get told that,,,, i woudnt have believed till i got at least an F3 FC.....i dont know what naze32 u are useing...but,.,,,,good luck...id just acro that pig and fly it till it burns..or beeps cause of low voltage..lol

and if you are just learning...my best advice is....just shut everything off...just accel. and arco...
this is what will happen....you are goin to learn how to fly in self leveling...then youll be like WTF man now i have to learn all over to fly arco...trust me..it happened to me...

i tryed once to get that thing to work on a full naze32.. it did good. youll just have too keep messin with it..it will never be perfect though....but then i realized...ill NEVER NEED this for anything im going to do..

Keeping a quad hovering in one position is actually quite difficult and requires constant tiny corrections. If you were expecting it to just hang there in the air then you have set yourself unrealistic expectations.

Neither Betaflight or Cleanflight are designed to deliver the kind of stabilised flight that you would expect from an aerial photography craft that has GPS, compass and everything else that is needed for the craft to effectively fly itself.

What you have built is meant for racing or freestyle where you are constantly moving.

From my experience, barometer based altitude hold is unreliable at best on Cleanflight/Betaflight. If you are learning to fly, you should not be using that kind of feature anyway as it will prevent you from learning throttle control. When learning, training wheels will only hold you back and teach you bad habits. Also, unless you have covered the barometer with some open cell foam and protected it from light, it will give unreliable readings anyway.

Hovering is over-rated. Slap on a pair of goggles and move forward (pardon the pun)

It´s good to set the right expectation.
At this stage (learning) I want to have things as smooth as possible and then slowly adding another level of difficulty, this is how it works for me. I also don´t want to crash and destroy a drone once a week. It´s quite expensive down here in Brazil :-)

Crashing is inevitable, especially as you start to push your abilities, so make sure you have lots of replacement propellers!

Simulators are great for practice and getting used to the sticks also. While not quite the same as flying in real life. It does teach the control movements and doesnt cost anything when you crash. Heck you dont even have to go get your quad " well that didnt work!" 'click' and your off again

YEP bro......just put it in arco and go...FORGET ABOUT THE REST....serious.. it will get you flying...and thats as smooth as it goin to be..its just a learning curve...it will be more difficult to learn it two or three times....like i said...it happened to me...and quess what...i cant fly LOS hardly any more..and i use to rip around fields LOS...just jump in...a good quad should handle multiple crashes in a feild with out hard objects....DAL props bull nose are very strong....a motor shaft or two and you will be as good as the rest...i learned with a 4mm CF frame..never broke once..and i HIT things..youll be fine...its like a bike...its gonna hurt...but at least its just your wallet...lol..have fun bro..

as for baros go...dude theres so many things that can make that thing go up and down...just the "BAROMETRIC" pressure where u are, at different times of the day will do some things...unless a fully GPSed FC is being used ur NOT going to EVER get it to be perfect year round...sorry to say bro...

i've played a bit with Baro on Naze32 some time ago ...

- add foam over the baro chip (props/wind will not make fake pressure changes)
- as i flown with it it kept around 1m up an down (try to go on a field)

if you will try GPS + RTH... remmeber not to enable buzzer at the same time (mine was emitting electromagnetic field and gps was going dumb... so actualy RTH => fly somewhere random...)

Hi, is posible read barometer signals from some pin of the Naze32 full rev6? assuming that i use Arduino to read this signals.
