786 I think you probably need to cut your losses and just replace the FC on that quad with a new one. It's always a gamble buying a pre-owned quad. Sometimes you can end up with a good deal but I've also seen plenty of people ending up with lemons.

0 Here we go again! So I removed the FC totally and unsoldered the scl sda wires from the GPS compass and.... on betaflight the barometer is back. Was it noise on the scl sda port confusing things?
Also I tried flashing the FC using betaflight on someone else's pc and when it stalls as before I notice that in device manager the com port changes to STM bootloader but with a warning triangle on the driver so that's why it can't open the serial port in bootloader mode. It can put the FC into dfu mode but then. Can no longer talk to it. Must be a way around that?

0 So I managed to get the FC to flash apparently with betaflight 4.4.2 by using zadig to replace the driver on the stalled stm dfu device in device manager.
The board auto detected and online target file loaded and flash succeeded apparently. But at the end there FC stays in dfu mode

0 Sorted through the m10bgps fix. Seemed to work but cold start still not quick indoors.

786 That's good news on the FC flashing. I still don't understand why wouldn't work on ANY computer you tried it on though. It's not usual that you would have to use zadig on all of the computer you tried to connect it to. Looking back through the dump, the SCL and SDA pads are using the same I2C resource as the barometer, so it's quite possible that the compass connections were initially interfering with the barometer, but once you removed those wire like I said to do there wouldn't have been any further conflict, so it doesn't explain why the FC then continued to have an intermittent issue with the barometer.
You're never going to get a quick GPS fix indoors. Unlike a mobile device which uses various GPS assist features such as the IP address location and cell tower triangulation, the module on your quad has to purely rely on the antenna which needs a clear unobstructed view of the sky for obtaining the fastest possible fix.
