Hi Jo, Welcome to the forum, you've come to the right place to learn! Have you got a quad yet, or still looking at what to buy or built?

hi Big Jo,

It's great to have you here with us... While the learning curve is huge, the payoff is even bigger. There are a few racer here that are pretty talented. I started off interested primarily in racing, then got distracted by the idea of freestyle for a bit and now am finding myself interested in racing again. What's great is you don't really have to choose one or the other.

I look forward to hearing more about what you're flying or planning to fly in the near future!

Thanks Stuffy.

Long story short! I purchaded a big lot of parts from a friend of mines who moved back to California! I have 2 robocat 250 and 2 other sets ! Have a radiolink t9 and some goggles, I tried putting a set together with no luck! I can build the drone and get all the parts in place but can't get the remote to communicate with the controller board! I can see the controller in cleanflight . I have fried 2 cc3d boards ..and just upgraded to naze32 .. so all this is new for me! Especially when it comes to TX, RX..ect...

Yes am glad to be here. Yes I understand it is a lot of learning involved! I like to get my hands dirty and never say NO! So am up for any challenge. Am more of a mechanic type of guy like to build and then sit back and appreciate what I have created !

I have a few kits that I put together but I missed something my drone won't respond to controller!!

So, have you configured the UART's for the receiver in the 'ports' tab of Cleanflight? Assigned 'arm' and 'mode' switches?
