Hello from Virginia!

Hello FPV Friends,

So this is the first Forum that I have ever joined so sorry if I suck at this.  Anyways, so I have been into the FPV drone hobby for about a year now and I LOVE THIS HOBBY!  So my interest for this hobby all started after my wife got me my first drone for Christmas which was the Syma X5SW and as soon as I open the box I was hooked.  Shortly after I started flying the X5SW, I started learning alot about FPV drones and all the different components to see how all this works.  Within weeks I was taking apart and rebuilding the X5SW and making Mods which I really enjoyed about the Hobby.  Then, about a month after I started flying,  I was flying the X5SW on what I thought was a calm day.  I was practicing flying FPV and only using the picture from my phone to fly and was flying great then a crazy wind gust came through and then.......You all probably know what happens next.  RIP X5SW :Sad  Well, Guess I gotta upgrade to the real thing, right?  Good thing I did my homework and already had in mind which AIO RTF unit I wanted to get.  So I went with the Eachine Wizard X220 AIO RTF that came with the Flysky FS I6 and holy shit! Man that was a learning curve and No i am not talking about how to learn Acro....Thats a whole different story LOL.  Anyways, very happy with the Wizard especially with the whole kit coming in around $189 which is a steal considering the Wizard came with everything to get you rippin.  One thing i wish I had purchased with the Wizard was of course goggles but more importantly, replacements parts because I crashed ALOT!!!  Within the first 2 weeks of flying I broke a receiver, 2 VTX,s, 2 arms and a top plate....My friends started calling me Sir-Crash-Alot which fit me well at the time.   As time went by I got better, purchased my first set of goggles and started flying acro which is so much easier flying FPV as opposed to line of sight.  Since then I think I have developed more of a passion for building, Moding and learning about the technology that goes into these drones more than flying itself.  Dont get me wrong, I still love flying but the building and tinkering thing is like a therapy for me which I am sure some of you can relate too.  Thats pretty much my drone hobby in a nutshell.  Anyways glad to be a part of this group and look forward to making some new friends that share the same passion and also help be a resource for new people that are just getting into this hobby!

Welcome Smile
Yea FPV is full of ups and downs Smile One day you might have the most wonderful flights ever and the next day you could be destroying multiple of your quads Smile But the learning, friendships and sense of achievement are worth it.

Welcome!
I identify a lot with you. I just love spending time tinkering around my drones and building, etc...
But flying is therapy too!
