Hello from Prague
#1
Hi guys,

i did not introduced myself before posting the first threads, sorry for that. I strated with RC cca 15 years ago with first EPP delta wings. Then i have had a longer pause. But my dream was, to make pictures from the air. Well, the digital cameras were too heavy, the motors not powerful enough and i was lazy to fulfil this desire.
In January 2015 i built my first 3D printer and later on, i printed my first copter (T4 mini). During summer 2015, i flew daily (LOS), in the beginning not far, later further and further. After aproximately 10 days i was veryconfident, so i mounted camera on my quad and went to make first photos. I flew higher and higher, because i wanted nice pictures from high altitude. Well, then slightly breeze started to blow and the quad drifted a bit, i tried to get her back, but as the copter was high and small like a fly, i lost orientation and the copter went further away. I panicked, not realising, that best thing is to get her down to earth and when i i found out, it was too late. I shut off the throttle and the copter fell from sky behind a distatnt row of trees. Well, never found her. That was my first quad photo session Tongue.
The same day, i ordered all the equipement a new and last days of the same summer, i finaly got my first aeireal pictures. Meanwhile, i have had similar situation, where the lost orienatation was a problem, but in this case, i was able to salvage everything, except the frame so i am now at T4 NR.3

I realised, that without FPV, with those small crafts, such crashes and loses are inevitable. So, now, i am learning FPV. In meantime, i bought a lot of parts and my quad fleet is expanding. My next targets are to fly FPV with my quads and another task is to build quad with iNav, sonar and other sensors to have autonomous drone. As i love 3D print, my intention is to print and design the frames for my quads myself.

Good luck to all of you and hello from Prague

Hello Regiss,
Looks like we started for the same reason, to take videos and photos in the air LOL
It's really worth while building and flying mini quads, doesn't matter if you were going to focus on just photography or more. They are relatively cheap to build and pretty tough against crashes. I became a lot more confident with flying, after getting familiar with most problems that we might encounter in the air, and know how to respond: lost signal, video, ESC/motor failure etc...

Welcome to the forum and have fun Smile
