I seem to have a similar issue down here in the south of the UK with trying to find large decent (legal) flying spots. Google maps is your friend but unfortunately most of the best looking large open spaces are privately owned farmland used to grow crops, so not really suitable and much chance of getting permission from the farmers who won't want their crops getting damaged by joyriding quad flyers Big Grin

We need to move to the states. They seem to have endless amounts of publicly accessible land that you can wander around to your hearts content without any danger of being shot by a farmer or prosecuted for trespassing!! Big Grin

Thank you.

I am current using the NATS drone assist app on android to do my first sieve. They also have a web link: https://drones.nats.aero/home ; very useful.

There are currently 2 places that want to try.

Yeah. Unfortunately it's not really just about avoiding no-fly zones that I have a problem with, it's about finding a suitable large open space outside of the no-fly zones. There are plenty of large open looking spaces down my way but pretty much all of them seem to be on privately owned land. I've stumbled across a few places that might be OK-ish but it would be nice to find something much larger while I'm still a novice. I'll keep searching Big Grin

Just took the plunge and flew the quad at an open space in Heaton Park, making sure I'm about 50 metres away from people. Great experience.
