Hello from kentucky, U.S.

Thank you all for providing this friendly and informative place to learn about the current leak in my bank account. I know it's not easy to run such a forum and this one seems to run beautifully.

How I found myself here...

Last year, I saw an inexpensive multirotor online somewhere and thought it'd be a thing my daughter would enjoy. She a bit shy of 13 though and I hesitated after it arrived; I then got busy and in the closet it went before I could make up my mind about it.

A couple of months ago I found the thing and decided to have a go with it. I haven't had so much fun in years. I soon needed a part for it and went to the local hobby shop?. What follows, I'm sure was predictable?. No use going over the details, really...

Today I sit with my fleet of 6 on a book case behind me as I wait for the parts to build my first one on the way?. Which I will control with my new Taranis QX7S. With the carbon-fiber skin?. Assuming I can then program the thing. When the nice manual I just purchased arrives? And my FrSky receivers?.

This is Oscar's fault, btw?.

I'm having a blast with these things?.

Seriously though... I work with computers and technology in general and open-source software in particular so I'm not completely lost but as you might imagine I have a thousand questions. I'll restrain myself though as much as possible.

Again thanks so much for all the great information and such a friendly place to find it, and to Oscar for his site as well where I feel I made a wise and informed decision on a quality transmitter that will do all I can imagine I'll ever want for years to come.

Cheers,

Blue

Smilies don't seem to display on my end btw. I'll explore the settings and see if there's a problem there.

Edit: A wealth of information now seems available to me. Problem solved.

Welcome to the forum Cool

You can't use the emojis from your phone/tablet as they are in unicode and won't be interpreted properly by the forum so will just display as "?" which is for an unrecognised character. If you want to use emojis you will need to use one from the preset list in the panel on the left when writing a post Smile

I managed to block the leak in my bank account over summer but recently the flood gates seemed to have opened again Big Grin
