I've been flying FPV for just under a year now, with a big gap in the middle due to winter and cold fingers. Started August 2016, and got back into frequent flying around the beginning of April. I went the first few months of learning in acro without crashing, I was pretty proud of that. Though that's changed in this season. . .  I found this site from Oscar's blog (as I'm sure most people do) and they were both monumental in helping me get started. The content here is much more useful, as it's made clear when something is updated. That's very useful when you're new, as I spent a lot of time using outdated information that I got from elsewhere. I currently have a small fleet of quads. A ZMR250 that was my first build, a ghetto QAV210 clone that I built with the absolute cheapest parts I could find at the time (which is actually my most frequent flyer), two micro brushed quads that have been nothing but trouble, and I'm currently working on a Totem 380 for aerial photography. As well, with the new restrictions in Canada, I want to build a compliance rig that's under 250 grams. I'll probably go for a 130 when I get some funds in order. Anyway, I'll end on a general thanks to all the people who were around last year and posted all the information I've used Happy to be a part of the community. You make a good point about it being really important to know if what you are reading is up to date.
On Oscar's blog, the publication date is there at the bottom of each article. It might be better if it was at the top, but at least it's there. I finally got around to setting up a buzzer on my one quad, and I spent a good while wondering why my CLI commands weren't working right. Then I scrolled further down the Betaflight github page, where the new commands were just tacked onto the end of the article. Nothing differentiating them, or saying that the old commands were antiqudated  @RENOV8R - I see you're from Ontario. As am I. What part? PM me if you want to keep it on the down low. I happened to be influenced by one of Oscar's posts that is probably a little out of date (only because people seem to be freaking out about the emax motors these days) but I am super happy with the results... the funny part about this is... in the FPV world we call something that was hot last September out of date now (it still cracks me up because I wasn't flying last September)...
