Hello
#1
New here. From central Arkansastan. Have 13 drones of various sizes. Been flying them ( mostly FPV) for about two years, but want to master the art of acro flying 250-sized quads. I have been waiting for that ‘click’ everyone talks about, but yet to come. I hope to gain more knowledge as I go. All my stuff is homebuilds, and love making them. Tim

Hey Flux,

Welcome to IntoFPV. If you need help with minis then this is a good spot for help. 13 quads already is quite a go of it too as Tom mentions lol...

As for the click, I personally did get a point where I felt a "click"... although I can also tell you it's not the point where I made the greatest improvement in my flying. I'd have to say that learning how to do a power-loop was probably the single greatest jump forward in my skills since it taught me how to fly upside down better. All that to say, the click is real but maybe not as big of a deal as people say. It sounds like you already have plenty of equipment to keep up with stick time... that's whats really important in the end.

Yes, it’s my harem of sorts. I have one 780mm, one 550, 500, 3 450,s one 280 octo, one 700 hex, and the rest are various sizes and flight controllers in the 250 range. Each one has a certain thing about it that I like. The 780 is slow, nice, take your time flying, the 5-series I use fir general flight and go pro, the hex is my 2nd ever build, made of aluminum. Good smooth flight but heavy. The 450’s I use to fly with fun, mostly around the neighborhood to get them all paranoid that I’m spying on them. The 280 octo is very smooth, and will catch altitude VERY quickly, one of my 250-size is naza equipped and actually is fun to fly, especially in places where there is lots of obstacles and people that I don’t want to get near. The others are the ones I continually fly into the ground trying to learn acro. I do use a simulator, but it seems too different. But sure looks wild getting a first person view of the ground coming at you in a very quickened pace! I started building them as a way to escape a life event. It just took off from there. I’m 52, so my reflexes are not twenty something, but I still have old age and treachery in my favour. I do want to experience the rolls and spirals I see on the YouTube videos. I’ll get there, someday!
