Heavy Lifters
Howdy Lads,

I have just run into a serious problem and I need help.

I cannot connect to the DJI Assisstant software.

I keep getting messages that there are new software and firmware versions available and to go to this link to get the latest Assistant 2.40 and firmware 4.04.

HOWEVER when I go to the site suggested the new 2.40 assisstant software is listed (which I downloaded and installed) but firmware 4.04 is nowhere to be seen. The latest version listed is 4.02.

Not only that but my computer device manager will not connect properly to the Naza. It shows the device is working properly but I cannot display or access the port tab.

Everything was working perfectly the last time I recalibrated the Naza. So what has happened?

Any clues out there in the quadverse?

Help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
KK.

Howdy Boys,

I managed to sort out the problem with my computer device manager and can now change port allocations etc but still no joy with connecting to the DJI Assistant.

I did manage to downloaded and install the Assistant 2.40 software but I still cannot find firmware 4.04 on the DJI.com site.

Let us see what tomorrow brings.

They pulled 4.04 due to bugs. Besides, all it did was tweak the max angular rates a bit and something to do with Zenmuse gimbal settings. Just click the "don't show me the message again" and stick with 4.02, all good. I'd also go back to the prior Assistant and see if you still have a connection problem

Thanks Reno.

If you still can't get it to connect, it's most likely a driver issue. Don't know what OS you are using, but if it's Win 10, here's your fix

Hi Reno, I watched your video today and I am a bit puzzled. I went through this driver thing some time back and I was connecting daily for months then it suddenly stopped.

Surely I had the correct drivers installed so my puzzle at the moment is what happened that it all suddenly stopped working.

I am going to be out of action for a couple of days but I should be back on deck again next week.

We will continue this discussion when I am back on deck.

I can only guess that as it happened suddenly, that has something to do with you downloading the 2.4 assistant software. Maybe delete it and do a fresh download of the original assistant?

Hi Reno, I think I may have a more simple explaination and that is during the cleaning that i did on my computer I may have accidentally deleted the driver. I thnk this is more likely than downloading 2.4.

Sorry about the delay in answering but I do have a good excuse for that.

I had to have a quick hernia repair on three hernias a couple of days ago.
I arrived the hospital at 5:00pm Thursday, was operated on at 8:00pm that night and was back home by 10:30am the next (Friday) morning.

Aaaahhhh! Modern technology. Don't you just love it. All done under keyhole surgery and I walked out of that hospital almost completely free of pain.

I had the same thing done 40 years ago and was cut from hip to hip and spent a week in hospital and six weeks recovering. With this one I will be back at the gym in 4 weeks.

And the cause of the hernias? No doubt a result of a misspent youth. That is if you could call throwing delightful young ladies around misspending your youth!

Would that constitute heavy lifting do you think? (I know it was a wacky pun but I could not resist it)   Big Grin

I should be back on track with Wooden It in about a week. I have been threatened with death if I get into any heavy lifting before a month. Nothing over 5kg for a month.

Luckily Wooden It only weighs 5kg just inside the limit set by my doctor.

Lucky me.

Glad to hear your surgery went well KK, did they use the mesh to repair your hernia?

Hi Reno, yes and they used all self dissolving staples and stitches so that I do not need any post surgery care. Neat wot?

I go for a check up in a months time just for a look see.

I have had no real pain since the op.

Amazing stuff and this is only the beginning. What are my Grandkids going to see and experience in their lives?   Smile

Howdy Lads,

While I am laid up recuperating I would like to get some opinions of good flight controllers.

While I am using and starting to get good results with the DJI naza M Lite, I would like to hear some opinions on various flight controllers.

Anybody out there got an opinion on better flight controllers than the Naza M?

How about Pixhawk?

I would be very interested in seeing such a discussion take place in this thread.

I still have not tried my new Multiwiicopter Hero 32 with Naze firmware yet.

Any opinions on that one?

Do not be shy   Big Grin
