HD camera or runcam split 2
#1
Hey

I currently got two racedrone's that I build myself.

For my holidays I would like to collect some HD footage, question is do I build a dedicated drone with a runcam spli build in it. Or do I buy a HD camera.

I am not a great pilot and still make hudge crashes, a split would only in one of my models and would limit me when breaking it. The HD camera I can switch around but I am afraid of destroying it.

Whats a good option I find a Hero too much money a Foxeer box seems OK , is the runcam II also I OK its a bit cheaper but seems not a very easy formfactor.

And when I build a split how can I be sure not to have the props in field of view? Whats a good frame.

Foxeer is $170. Session 5 is now $200. Not that much more. I would go with GoPro. I have done some hard crash and the camera is ticking.

My friend had countless crashes with the session 5 and it's still working fine, protected by a 3d printed rubbersuit.

I like the shape of the runcam2 but it's not as crash-resistant as other cams, and half of them stopped working even for no apparent reason... Sad

Half of them are failing?  Really?

Yeah maybe because of vibrations or such, never directly related to a crash... which is sad, i really like the image quality of the runcam2.

Also quite often the battery goes bad, or is already bad straight from the factory.

Dunno where those numbers come from, but I've logged quite a few flights and hours on mine with no issue. Hell, mine even survived an ESC fire that killed my FC
