Ok, my head is swimming from all the info here on HD cameras.  I'm a noob to the UAV world.  I have a GoPro Hero 4, but I don't really want to use it on the quad as I'm still learning and the risk of a crash is higher, and it seems like not the best choice anyway.  I would like a good quality HD camera that I will dedicate to the quad(s), but at this point it doesn't need to be a high end 4K, etc.  What is the best choice of camera for my situation?  Thanks!

The Runcam Split 2 seems to be what you are looking for, mostly. So it only records in 1080, but it seems to be a weight saver and is definitely more compact than having two cameras. After watching a number of videos recorded using one, it seems like it does a pretty nice job! Are you set on having a dedicated second cam for your flight vids?

Thanks, no...not set on 2 cams if the one cam can provide good vid for now.  Later I will be looking for high quality video, but for now just a nice video that is decent.  And frankly if there is a product out there than can provide high quality video in a single camera, I will be good with that.

EDIT: I just watched some video on YT, and I think you hit the nail on the head with this one kaitylynn.....so thanks again! I need to put you on retainer, you have been very helpful.... :-)

Nice vids, thanks for sharing.....and you sold me on the cam.....!!  I will put it in my FT build.

The biggest cavet with the Split is you will need one for each quad you have. In your OP, you mentioned quad(s).

I do have quadssss, and I'm sure I will have more quadssss.....;-) good point though....
