For that reason I only use BG for stuff I really don't need in a hurry or can't get anywhere else. I'd rather pay Amazon or our domestic Quad shops a couple of bucks more to get it in a reasonable time frame with realistic tracking and the ability to return or warranty something that isn't quite right. Dealing with BG on a problem is extremely frustrating and usually takes more time and effort than value of what you bought. I've placed over 40 orders with them in the past 9 months totalling almost 100 items and the only one I had a real issue with was the Mobula7 pre-order. I can't say I ever had any issues with the order statuses not getting updated but sometimes I had so many orders in the pipeline at once that I may well have lost track and just not noticed. I get most of my stuff delivered via priority direct mail so it usually arrives in less than 2 weeks from the China warehouses and on some occasion it has only taken a week. If you really want to know what slow shipping is, try using AliExpress. Some of my items have taken so long to arrive (6 weeks or more) that I forgot I even placed an order so when it finally arrives it's like getting a surprise package through the post Posts: 909 Threads: 59 Likes Received: 543 in 318 posts Likes Given: 730 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 26 Got this email this morning Scott Posts: 21,279 Threads: 587 Likes Received: 8,973 in 6,640 posts Likes Given: 1,425 Joined: Jun 2018 Reputation: 789 (31-Mar-2019, 07:06 PM)Scott_M Wrote: Got this email this morning Scott Me too. Well, I hadn't until you posted this and I went and checked my junk email box to find it there Oh well. Patience is a virtue I guess. An updated manual (v2.4) for you to browse through while you're waiting is HERE. The manual linked to in the Banggood listing is an outdated older version (v2.0). This time some proper freestyling with it rather than just sedate cruising around as per their previous videos. Unfortunately there is no raw file download this time and you can tell that some of the video encoding has been mashed up by YouTube. It certainly seems to handle the sun better than the Firefly 1 which just turns the sun into a black dot. Also, more conflicting information on shipping dates. Hawkeye said this week, but Banggood are saying sometime in May. I was tempted by the Runcam 5 but it is considerably bigger. I think this will work on my Tyro79 a little better. I will try and review it when it arrives. But it's still not showing as shipped. I was also tempted to cancel my order after the announcement of the RC5 but in the end I decided to just stick with it as it only cost me half of what the RC5 does, so I still thought it was worth a shot. I see that in typical BG fashion, they don't fulfil orders in the order they were actually placed because I ordered mine 2 days before you did. Hawkeye have reportedly released a new firmware update a few days ago so that might fix some of the washed out footage. I guess we shall see. • Posts: 3,288 Threads: 129 Likes Received: 2,740 in 1,644 posts Likes Given: 2,969 Joined: Apr 2017 Reputation: 65 Cannot wait to view some of the results. I managed to destroy my version 1 FireFly when it was attacked by Reavers... oh wait, no...after it hit the ground when I clipped a blade off a prop and crashed. Just when it seems like the range issues get ironed out! Anyway, curious to actually see one fitted on a 3" craft. Also how the camera handles sudden light shifts. It looks like the new 0412 firmware update addresses a WDR issue. I'm not sure if the shipped units come with the update already applied, but if not then it can be downloaded from the following link... http://www.cnfpv.com/portal.php?mod=view&aid=111 • Posts: 909 Threads: 59 Likes Received: 543 in 318 posts Likes Given: 730 Joined: Nov 2018 Reputation: 26 Hi Snow Thanks for the link, but there is no file to download. Looks like they forgot to add the link under the word "Download". I looked at the original firmware page and it shows the link, but not on the 0412 page. They will probably figure it out by the time we get them. And like you say, who knows what they shipped with. Scott • |
