Having issues with a SP Racing F3 Cant flash firmware or connect.
#1
Hi!

Im having some serious trouble with a SP racing F3. Right out of the box, i plugged it in and while cleanflight recognised the comm port i could not connect. Tried flashing firmware to it, both with cleanflight and betaflight. No joy there. Tried running through the recovery/lost comms instructions. Always says 'could not connect to bootloader, programming failed' Still no joy.

Did a bit of googling and tried installing drivers. I have tried with the silabs drivers, the winusb drivers through zadig, still no joy. I then tried flashing the FC using flash loader demonstrator. Which is a fix i have seen work for many. But it crashes the app whenever i set my comm port, baud rate and then click next.

I am starting to think this FC is busted. But i dont want to bail on it till I know for sure.

Added note, when i connect to usb i get the power light and a bunch of flashes from the red led, which then goes out for a minute then starts flashing half second on half second off. If i put it in bootloader, i just get the power light, no red led at all, which i assume means it at least goes into bootloader?

Any help with this would be much appreciated!!
Smile

Thanks

Joe

It seems pretty non-sense but try to change your usb cable.
Try one or two more even if the one you are using works well with other equipment.

On the pc device manager can you see the selected com port with the proper drivers installed? Do you have direct usb connection or an interface board cp210x? Try to rollback all drivers and reinstall. The red blinking seems about right.

The SpRacingF3 needs the CP210X driver. Install that and see if it connects.

I just have the direct usb to the FC. Tried reinstalling the CP210x drivers still with no joy.

are you able to get the FC into bootloader mode? basically short the boot pin when you connect the USB. then try to flash the firmware.

Can you change from com6 to other com port? It is double listed on your device manager

Did you run the ImpulseRC driver fixer? https://impulserc.blob.core.windows.net/..._Fixer.exe

Ensure no other usb devices are connected so you are not confused with the Com ports.

Did you try a different usb cable? It has to be a data cable, not just a charging cable.

Can you show us what your Betaflight shows for the Com ports when you connect?
