Happy Solstice (for the other day!)
#1
I love winter where I live, shortest day of the year and it was 24 degrees, sunny and still, should remain like that for the next 3 months!

This is a vid from one of my PowerUp FPV's (paper plane 'drone' on a modified 'infoamer' foam-board fuselage) flown by my buddy Mikey, this is his 3rd ever battery and his 1st of the day, I have just found a metaphor that works for him to better understand the controls...
The trim was a bit out so it turned better to the left than the right, you can see after he panicked a bit flying over the dirt track so you see when he gets back over the football pitch he circles 3 or 4 times to the left while he calms himself a bit, before coming in to land just in front of us!

Edit to add : That isn't bad throttle control, I think the powerup fpv has an over-active gyro on pitch authority..?

And just to show off, the weather forecast for the next week!

looks like fun... It's a little tough to get perspective for me for some reason, I can't tell how high up you guys were. Were you very high? It seems like you were pretty low.

No, there is some pretty dense bush next to the pitch, I found out just how dense, it took me about 10 mins to go 20M! Mikey is also just getting the hang of it, me too if I'm honest!

I have taken it up to about 30 - 35m but it is a WiFI connection and I have lost sync for no apparent reason on more than 1 occasion, the fact that it glides makes me worry how far it might go if I'm really high. I hope to be going to a bigger field tomorrow, so I can try and do a proper range test...

Yeah, its funny, the app that controls the plane allows to change to lower video quality to 'improve' (term used loosely) FPV latency, with the lower quality selected it doesn't do it!?

This means it's probably some post-processing that's disabled to save time. Most my fpv cams have this blackout option too but it never looked as good as in your vid. Big Grin

The benefit of on-board DVR Big Grin
Sadly the WiFi FPV feed lags and drops frames quite a bit..!
