Greetings guys!
I'm joining this group to get some "insider" knowledge on quads and FPV set-up and configuration. I'm hoping you guys can help with my questions - will post in relevant forum. I have been in the R/C hobby since roughly 1969 when proportional radio was just coming into its own. I spent many years with my father flying pattern & scale, slope soaring, quarter scale, and some heli's to boot. I put my 35% Sukhoi in moth balls back in 2009 and did the soccer dad thing for a few years. The great thing about this hobby is that it continues to evolve - give it a few years and there's something new to try! So now I'm trying FPV quad's, and the great thing is I can practice in my back yard! very cool. My corral includes an Inductrix (indoors for rainy days), Diatone GT2 200, and a Phantom 4. Using Spexman SP2 goggles.
The tough part of being on Long Island is finding a place to fly. Unfortunately, RC aero-modelers have not been welcomed in many parks - just the opposite, my club of the past 20 years just lost their field. If there are any LI folks reading this and have a flying site, please drop me a note.
Thanks,
Doug
