Greetings from the Mitten State (Michigan, USA)
#1
Good evening!
My name is Eric, and I'm fairly new to FPV. I started my addiction with a Dromida Ominus non-FPV about 2 years ago, just looking for a flying model. Eventually, I got the itch to go bigger and/or faster, so I started looking into some hobby grade models. Now, me being me, I wanted to build something, because... well... that's what I do. So flash forward through 2 years of justifying cost and saving my overtime checks, and I finally walked out of my local hobby store with a pile of parts.

About a week ago, I started assembly of my first true FPV quad (my tinywhoop doesn't count, as I bought a RTF and added a cam). I've been met with a few roadblocks, mostly due to my ignorance. But with the help of the internet, some YouTube vids, and this forum, I'm getting there. Once I'm home from deployment rotation, I'll be back to work on the quad and I'll post my results as soon as it's done.

Thank you for the warm welcome, and for the help while I was lurking.
Regards,
Eric W the Medic

Welcome to the site Eric,

Glad to hear that the lurking paid off enough that you decided to join in on the conversation! The roadblocks are the best and worst part of this hobby! Keep busting through them and have fun at all costs (even if it has an impact on wallet thickness like the guys are talking about above) that's the trick I think.

I think you mean "...have fun despite all the costs..."  Wink

Welcome Eric, congrats on your ascension from lurker to conversation starter to builder, I look forward to seeing how it goes...

Remember that the forum is here to help you get past the roadblocks, and not just with information and advice but also with encouragement, commiseration and sometimes just to have a laugh with people who 'get it.'
