Hey everyone. Pretty sure this'll be a nice place to learn and build. To start, I took over a friend's old build and bought myself a QX7. This will be more of a practice quad to build/repair and fly.

Here's a list of his build:
Frame - xelite XE180
FC - Naze32 rev5 (I think it's an F1 right?)
PDB - Atas mini pro
ESC - Dys 20a (that's all he remembers and there is no label)
Motors - Dys 1806 2300kv
Props - Dys 4045
Lipo - 3s 1300mah

I'm having some trouble trying to set this up. You can check out my post at http://intofpv.com/t-nubee-question

Plans on own build:
Frame - Geprc LX5
FC - Holybro Kakute F4
ESC - 30a?
Motors - Cobra 2205 2600kv
Props - ?
Lipo - 4s ?

Appreciate any suggestions and opinions on my plans.

Hiya FPV Nubee! I'm a fellow noob here too so I dont have any info about your parts except your FC seems decent. I ordered a matek F405 AIO as I've read good things about it and it meets my needs for a lower stack.

For escs I've read that the experienced guys are in no hurry to get blhelli 32 yet, and blhelli s with dshot 600 is excellent. Amp draw depends on prop and motor choice.

Props is still a little foggy for me, basics are prop angle and surface area. Bull nose props have more surface area than standard props and the more blades the more surface area ( obviously ). The more surface area the more lift at the cost of more draw on the system. This balance seems to depend on the specific quad. Thats why I've bought many many different props to find the balance between power and flight time that I prefer.

Batteries, there is a good thread on this recently, IMO 4s is more fun than 3s. Good motors need good batteries so the discharge rate is important. My favorite batteries are tattu r-line 75c 1550 mAh, though my next purchase will be the same in 95c versions.

Welcome to the club!

Hey nubee, welcome to IntoFPV!

As you probably already saw in the other thread, yeah the Naze is an F1 board. but I'll leave the rest of the support to that thread as well.

I hope you enjoy the forum and I look forward to seeing you around! it's a fun journey and this place makes it even more fun.
