Greetings from LA
#1
Hello everyone,
Just getting started here in LA. Been reading a lot (mostly Oscar's tutorials). Been flying the heck out of my Sharper image DX-5 drone (which is pretty much stuck in Stable mode). Started into building a Martian (I've done a lot of building of micro-electronics). Built the frame and have all the components except 2 of my ESCs. Dry fitting and getting ready to start soldering. I've got my transmitter (Jumper T12 Plus) hooked up to FPV Air 2. Been doing some simulator work. I was going turtle a lot, so I switched it to stable mode for now. I've mostly been flying LOS, so FPV is taking some getting used to.

Does anyone race these things on an amatuer level in LA anymore? Seems like most of the meet-ups and Facebook groups are old or dead.

Welcome to the forum Cool

Sorry, I can't answer your question about LA because I'm from across the pond, but there are a number of US pilots on here from the California area so I'm sure one of them will come back with some kind of answer Smile

Welcome to the site from another Californian! I have a few guys I fly freestyle with down here where I am in San Diego, we all met on meetup. I've heard of a couple Facebook groups, but since I'm not on Facebook can't point you somewhere.

welcome. you can look up MultiGP chapters in your area and try to contact them. normally they have a facebook group you can join to get meetup dates.

Hi there and welcome!

I would advise to stick with acro on the simulator, eventually you will get the hang of it. It's way more fun and challenging!
Slow your rates and fly slowly and after you gain more confidence start raising them Wink
