Hi guys, this is my first post and I'll soon be an owner of a legit racing quad. I've read a lot of your articles on Oscar's website and it's been very helpful. It's awesome to see so many people sharing their knowledge with the rest of us rookies. I'll be coming back here often as I feel like it's novice friendly.

I am a self taught fixed wing guy that got into the hobby with EPP foam airplanes because it's affordable and easier to fix than balsa. In any case, I would consider myself an intermediate pilot who loves to fly 10+ packs whenever I go to the field. There's a lot more I need to learn about my er9x flashed Turnigy 9x and even more to learn about quadcopters.

I skipped on the Taranis plus for now until I max out my model storage space on the 9x ER9x. Was that a mistake or would the 9x er9x suffice?

Yes, absolutely I plan on modifying the cockpit of the Cessna to fit a Foxeer HS1190 or put it on the Polaris. I think the latter might be a better choice because I can pretty much fly off of any surface  and the props would be out of view.

Hey Greg,

Let me know if you know of any meetups with multirotor guys in the Chicago land area. I've seen them around a couple of times at a couple of fields I fly at, but it's mostly the fixed wing guys I see. There's a drone meetup on meetups with most of the people being a DJI owner. This city needs more quad activity ASAP.

Are the admins not located in the US? Chicago's a great city but the quad scene isn't as popular compared to other cities. It would be nice to see this amazing hobby take off more than it has over the past year.
