im jealous xD like to get that frame too :-)

whats the weight of the build? did you mesure the single frame?

this canopy seems very tanky to me, looks like the one used on the diatone gtb series. david cledon has a nice canopy design at less than 3g outbof tpu on thingiverse, it doesnt have a top mount for an antenna. i use a modded version of it.

I never intended for this to be a build thread and I never really measure weights but I did when I built it using my office mail scale.

Total build weight was 56g with TATTU 500MAH 1S 95C lipo without the landing gear/arm protectors in the photos.

The frame itself weighs 4.4g : https://armattanproductions.com/pages/pr...ails/24659 designed by Quad66 (check him on youtube).

Dave_C canopy on thingiverse is fairly good but securing the antenna with zip ties would add weight too. I downloaded the Toothpick PicklePod2 canopy from thingiverse and modified it to get the TBS vtx antenna snug fit: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3944156 . The good thing about this design is that they have several options and I managed to print them without any supports.

I designed the landing gear to raise the height of the quad base so it does not land hard on the lipo if landing on the pavement instead of grass.

I printed the landing gear and canopy in PLA to get the build done quickly and will print them in TPU if they do not hold up in the long terms but so far they have held up.

nice weight
i follow him seems a long time on rotorbuilds :-)
i actual have a 1s with 55mm blades on 0802 motors, without any protection. seems its still durable from the low 40g uaw.

The FPVCycle 1202.5 (X 4) motors are approx 8g heavier than most common 0802 motors (X 4) and since you have to add on a vtx and a rx to the FPVCycle AIO you add around 3g (including antennas) compared to other AIO boards with built in vtx+rx. So we are 11g heavier to start with.

I actually mounted the tbs xf and pro32 nano’s on a TBS mounting board on this build since I hate things flapping around or sticking them with double sided tape. That added atleast another 1g.

I opted for tri-blade props over bi-blades for better cornering but that adds another 2g.

The canopy is about 4g which also on the heavy end of the spectrum compared to other 1.5g to 2g canopies.

It is so easy to see the weight adding up Smile
Which is why weight is something that drives me crazy at times.

1s settups xD where 5g are 10% of the uaw - weight is everything on these builds :-)

mine uses prehistoric parts, using a 16x16mm fullspeedrc stack. i believe there arent anymore 16x16 1s electronics, no spi receiver..
a big difference between us builds might be efficiency and throttle resolution, mine is much worse there than a 2.5"-3inch. i got up to 4min flighttime on a 550mah gnb, "rippin" as hard as possible. its benefits is precision while nimbleness :-) somehow :-)
i had 1102 on 1s which might be close to your motors, much more versatile settups...

i put bluejay/48khz and my fpvcycle aio babytooth was running away at mid throttle. It'd freak out and shoot up.

I'm not sure what the issue was, anyone heard of this?

I have done about 20 packs through my build and I did not experience this. Mine is running Betaflight 4.2.9 and Bluejay 0.13 48khz.

Did you change the stock pid tune?

The stock tune worked fine but then I started adjusting things around.

My tune was a basically a UAVTech Toothpick preset for slider tuning PIDs and Filters: https://theuavtech.com/presets/#/toothpicks

For the ESC, I left dithering on and rampup power set to 11 in Bluejay similar to what Nick Burns has shared: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fuNxH3O...kweKF/view

I also set Motor throttle idle value % to 8 (BF Configuration page) and Dynamic idle value to 30 (x100 rpm) (on the Pids page) to based on Quad66 video on 1202.5 motors and Gemfan 3018 props:

stock board tune and fpvcycle tune, both caused that issue. I'm back on blheli-s(on a new board, i blew up my last one with a dumb 3s plug in) and it's fine.

Maybe try BLHeli_M if you want RPM filtering?

Thats not good. For me Bluejay worked perfectly. Probably still has some bugs.
