hello all,
i recently installed an HGLRC M100 Mini gps module. as many would be familiar these things typically come with two LEDs of same or different color, one to indicate powered ON status, the other flashing or steady indicating status of gps module function. the product literature on their site has a hugely limited (and equally obscure) amount of information explaining the whats and hows of the flashing (or steady) LEDs mean. M100 Mini has BLUE steady light meaning powered ON status, RED light indicating gps module function which could either be flashing or steady.
in my initial experience, the RED is typically steady from power ON until 3D fix is ok. after flying a pack i notice its flashing already upon landing. it goes on like this for the entire session with the succeeding packs. what does this mean?
then i updated to BF4.4.1 (previously 4.3.1) when i noticed the flashing sequence changed from the previous once approx every 1.5secs to about once per second. its not a precise count but i just want to emphasize the flashing sequence became more frequent after upgrading BF. if i had to guess, this could have something to do with the communication rate of the gps module with the FC which per spec is at 10Hz. again what does this change in flashing sequence mean?
finally as of this writing, i noticed the RED light remaining steady the entire flight session of several packs. do note that functionality remains unchanged and in fact the 3D fix by now seemed to be much quicker than before. from boot up till i get 0.9 HDOP is within a minute, 3D fix of >10sats in less than that. so what does this now steady only light mean?
hoping the more knowledgeable folks could chime in. cheers!
