GPS Icon not showing up
#1
I got a GPS Recently HGLRC M80 Pro to put on my 5inch apex and i did the wiring right
GPS Rx to Tx Fc
GPS Tx to Rx Fc
Power and SCL,SDA

FC SpeedyBee F405 V3
I set it up on Uart 6 with the DPS of 115200 as recommend in Manual
After doing this also i am not able to get the GPS icon on Betaflight the gps is getting power and when i leave it out for 2 to 5 minutes a green light blinks slowly but on the Software i cant see the GPS icon and there is no 3D Fix
Tried on a diffrent Uart Port still the same issue.

I even tried on a different FC still the same issue

Can anyone help me fix this issue

What protocol have you set the module to? Older version of the HGLRC M80 used the UBLOX protocol and newer versions appear to use the NMEA protocol. So if you have the protocol in Betaflight set to UBLOX, change it to NMEA and see if that resolves your issue.

There is another thread about this change in protocol use by the HGLRC M80 GPS module at the link below...

If your module is using the NMEA protocol and you aren't in Europe (your profile states India) then you may have some problems getting a satellite lock. There are more details in another thread HERE.

Did you have any problems with the compass? I have the same gps and fc. I got the gps to work flawlessly, but I cant figure out why the compass wont work. I've been googleing for probably 45 mins now so I might have just not found the solution yet but I figured i'd just ask someone.

If you're running Betaflight then I would forget about trying to use a compass. Even if you get it to show up it can cause more problems than it solves and the Betaflight developers eXplicity advise not to use it due to potential fly-aways. For GPS Rescue you don't need a compass. The GPS coordinates and a barometer work just fine for getting a quad back to the take-off home point. Leave the I2C wires for the compass part of the GPS module disconnected and just use it as a GPS-only module.

Alright that’s nice to know, I didn’t need to use it anyway I just thought it would look cool in the OSD. Thank you.
