Going digital...
#46
Yeah, bit of a process but was interesting to go through.

before rip
  • configure blackbox settings as per gyroflow wiki, including the settings that reduce the amount of data saved to essential gyro only.
  • clear out flash for space
rip
  • Turn on voice record on phone, place centrally to rippage
  • Record from onboard vtx, turn on early, before arming and do an audio sync (clap hands, lol)
  • rip pack
  • copy vtx video off quad to PC, same with audio
  • copy blackbox logs, the last file (which is an aggregate of all flight logs) is the easiest to use
  • Run video (full video, no trim) through gyroflow
Gyroflow process
  • Load video, use timeline to note how long video is (TimeTotal) and when arming starts (TimetoArm).
  • load camera profile (just search for walksnail and tried one of the community ones)
  • load gyro data and select the flight from the dropdown list.  Note the time of the flight from (TimeTotal minus TimetoArm) the values before, it will be less than the video if you had it recording before arming
  • Set rotation value on pitch axis to 35deg (to account for my fpv camera angle versus gyro data)
  • turn on low pass filter, leave at default value
  • Set rough gyro offset to TimetoArm value, doesn't need to be exact.
  • I set FOV to 1 or around that
  • I set smoothness to 0.2 or around that
  • Run autosync (i use 2 to 5 points, no more)
  • Export
Adobe premiere
  • Load project, add stabilized video and audio track
  • Sync audio and trim video
  • color grade and some resizing
  • up the volume on the audio!
Yeah not much ROFL

Quote:I've ran a AOS5v1 for a year now that's held up great and just built a v2 with a DJI O3 but haven't got to really push it yet.

Sorry late reply I know but I would love to see that O3 build mate.   I've just started putting together a SpeedyBee Master HD build with an O3 air unit myself.  Can't wait to get it in the air!

What are your thoughts servo on the O3 airunit?   Do you use the V2 goggles with it or the Goggles 2?

So far so good, only really had it out a few times, hopefully today too if schedule works. Using it on my existing v2 goggles. Already planning to convert my Aos3.5v2 to o3 as well soon and try out some tmotor 1604.

Put my o3 quad through quite the beating today and camera took the brunt of it. Not sure what you'd call the pieces that stick out above and below the lens but the upper one is chipped away. Also both screws on one side no longer will tighten which is an issue I had on the Air Unit camera on another quad. On that one I just tightened it down with some coarse threaded screws and forgot about it, hopefully I can do the same here (i'm out of those screws though Cry ). I was able to fly the last pack with only the screws tight on one side with no sign of there being an issue.
