Its not quite the same part. The one from pmousse is white vinyl wrapping a circuit board, not an injection-molded black case snapped around a board.
The white one in the other thread tunes manually in steps or scans the band and locks the largest signal. It has a spectrum analyzer built-in, on screen.
The black one seems to have 32 channels preprogrammed, and to include the RSSI on the OSD (no spectrum analyzer) you have to calibrate the range manually - i.e. with an external spectrum analyzer. Or at least that's what I got out of Banggood's description.
Me, I'm intending to do this, but in increments. First, the UVC dongle and my HTC One M7 with a RS232 40ch external box. When I have that demonstrated, I'll move to an RX5808 and build a much smaller enclosure. My intent is binocular VR goggles with prescription lenses (I have astigmatism/cylinder rotation in addition to aging eyes). An attractive part of this approach for me is the pixel density in 2-up mode (FPViewer) and the cheap supply of 5.1v 10000mAh USB2 power bank batteries.
Edit: my first post in an RC/FPV forum, ever. For me, this is about the journey, not the end-result. I am probably going to be the worst pilot ever for a long time, but when I have the equipment where I want it, I'll start to (suck at) racing
