GEP-VX4
#1
Just got my hands on a GEP-VX4 and thought I would share my build (still a WIP)

I opted for the 180mm sized quad as for some strange reason I really like the 180 class a lot.

So, what do you get in the kit?

All this.

You get:
 1 x 2mm top plate
 1 x 2mm bottom plate
 4 x 4mm Arms
 2 x 1.5mm Camera brackets
 1 x PDB with XT60 connector
1 X Rear LED lightbar and cables
 8 x Anodised standoffs
 4 x self adhesive rubber/foam landing pads
1 x small bag of zip ties
some rubber sticky stuff (yet to know what for)
 PDB/FC standoffs
Anodised bracket for securing the arms
 Build sheet.
 Bag of assorted screws.

Not a bad load of goodies.

The quality of the parts looks and feels really good., Especially like the 2mm top and bottom plates.

This is a WIP, so will update more as I go.

man those top and bottom plates look solid. and the "salmon" color looks really nice.  Big Grin lol
i think the 4" props i sent you would go great with this frame.
would you happen to know the weight of the bare frame? and does it come in a 5" version?

Bastards ! , Salmon is the new Pink, and besides, the colour is "off Red", with a slight hint of perhaps fushcia. more like salmon. Big Grin

And yes the frame comes in a 5 and 6 inch version. http://geprc.com/

my frames are having barbie issues. Dodgy

I will weigh the bare frame once I have dry built it.

from the pictures on their website, it looks like it goes on top of the top plate to help keep the battery from sliding.

Finally someone is trying it
Thanks to respond to my post
My lhs is bringing vx5 for me
Soon I am gonna try one

The pink sticky material is (as i think what are you talking about)a non slip battery pad

Also it seems to be a bit heavy (at least for me) at 102g but not to forget it has separate arms and a lot of aluminium parts but still would go for vx5 at 118g
Seems to be light enough

Also geprc has 130 frame too
That one I'm gonna post a build log with mini red bottoms
And 3 pure X frame one with separate arms, one unibody and last with unibody and 3d printed pod like Shendrones mako

Also to note I am not sponsored by geprc but I just love their frames (not the motors)

Finished the build.

Here are 2 Pics.

Have not yet done a proper flight due to bad weather, but it does hover, and all is working. Will post a flight video when I can.

Now, my overall thought one the frame.

This is a very nice frame to build, very easy, The carbon appears to be of good quality with no rough edges at all, and no carbon dust.

The FPV cam plates are excellent if you are running a runcam swift or similar with the 4 mounting holes as the frames cam plates allow for this so it gives you a almost click stop feel when you adjust the camera..I like that.

The LED lightbar is blinding, and by default it is set on a pulse, but they are white. (no need to turn on LED bar in Cleanflight either, it works fine without.  I will play around with it if I ever get around to it.

Not a whole lot more to say about it really,  in my opinion is a better designed and constructed frame than my QAV 180.

This quad feels solid and tough.

and so much so, with all the gear you see on it in the pic she weighs in at 623 grams.  But I like the extra weight myself, I like the way the quad feels.

Overall And without a test flight as such I would give this Frame a 4.5 out of 5.

The go pro mount is not part of the kit, is a 3D printed part I printed .
