Furious FpV Mini Rx
#1
Howdy!

So I finished putting together an atom v2 and I've soldered in the Furious fpv mini Rx, followed the instructions on the Furious fpv website to bind it and flip the "correct" switches in cleanflight, but I'm getting no joy at all. In cleanflight I can test the motors from within the web interface and I can change settings all day, but it doesn't reflect anything I do from the sticks.

I'm using a taranis 9x+ with it. The atom v2 has, I believe, a colibri f3 FC. I followed all of furious fpv's instructions about switching uart3 to serial_rx, etc, to the letter, and turned sbus inversion off. Nothing I do on the sticks registers in CF.

I'm new to this so I'm sure it's something very simple that I'm missing, but I'm not sure where to go next. Any advice would be much appreciated!

Did you plug a battery in? (Forgive me if too obvious.) Don't forget - props off!

Sorry, I see you can run motors. Only other thing I can think of is to turn on transmitter before plugging in usb/cleanflight (and/or battery).

I'm pretty sure I do that, but I'll make absolutely sure the transmitter gets turned on first (just in case). Any other suggestions?

Can you link those instructions?

Quick question - you have set serial_rx and sbus as provider in configuration tab? This setting saves only if you have set any uart to serial_rx *before* setting it there.
Find me on Youtube and Instagram. I currently fly: DRC Aura, NOX5R, Minimalist 112 and drive a scrap RC car

Here's the link to the instructions (scroll towards the bottom...)

At the risk of sounding fully and completely noobtastic: I have no idea how to set the UART to sbus....? Is that something done with pins or soldering a jumper or something? Again, this is an Atom v2, with (I believe) a TBS Colibri F3 flight controller...

Perhaps that's the missing link...?

I'm learnin' as I go here... not sure if I answered that question correctly, or if I completely understand it.  I followed the instructions so yes, I set the configuration tab accordingly.  Is there somewhere else - someplace that isn't specified in the instructions on that link - where I need to set UART to serial_rx?

You mentioned you followed the directions to set UART3 to Serial RX (in Ports tab) - I think that's what Konrad was talking about.  You also turned off inversion.  Just to clarify,  when you say "no response to sticks", do you mean that the indicators in the Receiver tab do not move at all when you are bound and powered up and move the sticks?

EDIT: I just read somewhere that Colibri uses UART2 for SBUS. You might try going back to the Ports tab, and setting UART2 to Serial RX. (Note: Be sure and turn off MSP whenever you select Serial RX for the same UART Port - ie, don't have them both turned on for the same port.)

Yep - I followed the instructions to set it up.  When I say 'no response to sticks', yep, I mean that the indicators in the Receiver tab don't move at all, and when I flip switches there's no indication of it (like when setting the ARM switch, etc).  This is, of course, bound and powered up with a battery attached (the RX doesn't power up if I'm only attached by USB to the FC - I've read that some FCs power up the RX when attached by USB, but this one doesn't seem to.)

I'll see if the UART2 thing works... I'm pretty sure I attempted that but I'll just go ahead and make sure, just in case.  I'm itching to get this thing flying so I'll try anything at this point lol.
