Fun but potentially dangerous

This is a pic of a friend of my son(who got me started) after a close encounter with 10" props on motors that were still armed.  Evidently as close as he could figure out, he bumped his controller and it feel over and jammed the throttle.........

A superb example of what happens when you don't follow safe procedures when dealing with something as dangerous as a craft with ten inch razor blades as the propulsion system.

I hope he didn't end up with any permanent damage over and above the scars.

Yeah, that was a real wake up call.............I seen that before I  built Frankendrone and had established safety protocols while still flying my X8s.  I don't know what blades did that..........but from the prop wash generate by my 1045 props on 2212 920kV motors...........I can only imagine it wouldn't be much different then a worm-drive saw...........

Unfortunate that he had to learn the hard way, thankfully it wasn't any worse. I never get closer than 20 or 30 feet when arming and launching my Tarot 650. It uses 15 inch CF props, and they will easily remove body parts.

damn, I'm cautious of 3" blades let alone 5 or 10", funnily though I fly paramotors with a 50" prop on my back.. and know too many with missing fingers now..

My biggest fear is my children. I am constantly explaining "this thing has the potential to kill".
