Hey everyone, 

I've seen a lot threads about this issue but I haven't been able to fix this binding problem. I could use some help. 

Basically, I have a iFlight Nazgul v3 with a Frsky R-XSR receiver. When I tried to bind it to my Taranis QX7, the receiver never entered binding mode. I found a bunch of advice on here about updating the firmware by flashing it from the sd card on the QX7. However, I keep getting an error "fw update error not responding". 

I have since tried updating the firmware on the QX7 and updating all the files on the SD card. Nothing is working. 

How can I flash the new firmware onto the receiver?

The "fw update error not responding" message usually occurs when there is no communication between the R-XSR and the transmitter.

Is your QX7 one with an S.Port connector on the bottom under the long black plastic cover (to the left of the SD Card slot)?

Please post a photo showing the wiring / connections between your R-XSR and the QX7.

I’m curious if the rx has new firmware on it.. and the controller won’t take the new firmware or that it maybe on d-8

Here is what the wiring looks like. I did notice that the wires going into the Qx7 are red, black, and yellow. (From left to right) And going into the receiver it's black, red, yellow. 

Would that be the problem then?

It seems to be the problem. Now I just need to switch the black and red wires.

I would CONFIRM that with both diagrams AND a multimeter first
