Frsky OpenTx and Open-TX
#1
I just got my qx7 radio with opentx on it. Is there a difference between frsky opentx and opentx? Is it necessary to install opentx and txcompanion? Will the txcompanion work with the frsky opentx? Does any of this change the way quad configuration is done?
Sorry for so many questions, just an aweful lot to absorb.

Thanks, DougFrsky

OpenTX companion is not a necessity, but allows you to tune/setup the radio from your PC. Does make things nice, especially when updating firmware, sound packs or splash screens.

Here is a good PDF guide that I used for my X7. Haven't looked back since and this was my first FrSky/OpenTX radio.

Think of it like Frsky is the brand, and OpenTX is the operating system, a highly customizable OS Wink

That's what I'm going to follow when mine comes in.

He does have a whole seriers just for the Q X7. Including the amber voice pack (very cool) and even hydro-dipping. Good info and easy to watch/listen too.
