Fried something on my FC, can power via USB but not battery
#1
First build here, no prior experiences with electronics and diy at this level.

I'm using OmnibusF4 pro with built in OSD + BEC. I've soldered FS-X6B transmitter and a Matek buzzer + LED to the FC and tested + configured with USB and betaflight. I'm using a Zippy compact S3, 25c 1300mah.

For power cable, I've wired battery+ to BAT+ pad, and battery- to GND pad on the FC.

When I plug in the battery for the first time, the LED on FC lighted up briefly and then died off and then there's some smoke, thou I didn't notice where exactly it is from, too busy removing the battery.

After this point, I can no longer power the FC directly from the battery. So I tried to wired my battery directly to Matek PDB-XT60, and wired power and ground from PDB to FC. Plug in battery, the PDB LED lighted up, but nothing from the FC.

When I plug in the USB to FC, it can power up the FC and the attached FS-X6B. And if my battery is plugged in, the voltage on betaflight shows 11v, if I unplug the battery the voltage in betaflight is 2.7v.

So question is, is there any thing I can do to power my FC with the battery? or do I need to buy a new FC?

Can't really get a good clear photo with my phone. Anyway, I can't find any KL3 anywhere on the board. There's several LG33, 1AM, S4, E39, B340.

More info if you need:

It's the soldering flux or something related to the solder, shiny coated surface. but I guess replacing/repairing component like this is beyond my current skill level.

Is there any way to re-configure the wiring or simple fix? If not probably the best option is to burn some cash to get a new FC.  Cry

Did you try feeding it 5V through the motor pins?

Instant smoke from the squared area when I plug in the battery. Does it mean the end of this FC?

You should have used the 5V from the Matek.
Can you still power it with USB? I guess it is dead now...
