Fpvcycle Fouride 5".... 4"?
#1
I was just browsing Kababfpv webstore for his 2mm prop hole drill bits kit recently. The postage cost was quite high to Australia so I decided to try one of his frames to make it a more worthwhile purchase. After a few days, the package arrived.

Bob says Fouride is primarily designed with 4 inch in mind but he added 5 inch because he could. I had 4 inch build in mind earlier but decided to do 5" when I got it.

The bits I'm most interested in. The 2203 pancake motors.
I chose 3000kv version for 3-4s.

I have a spare budget JHEMCU 30A AIO as used by kababfpv and bought a Vista unit for the build.

After a few hours.

Slammed look.

Underside of the camera mount.

With the frame/camera mount design, it looks like this quad could hug the ground closely.

There's a fair bit of flex and I'm prepared for the thin arm breakage. Smile Spare sets of 5 and 4 " arms.

Dry weight 225g with the Gemfan 5125 props.

Updated to BF 4.2.2 with RPM Filtering.

Really looking forward to maiden it and compare it to another light 5". ( Not so impressed with the ET5 with 1505 motors).

But the problem is that could be 3 more weeks away due to covid lock down here.....sigh Sad

Beautiful! I am a big fan of kababs builds but have only ordered once about a year ago due to the shipping and tax to Sweden

Thx. It was my first purchase from him too. Had a few things in the checkout carts but always stopped at payment in the past.
His latest 1s AIO FC from ZEE looks interesting. I would have gotten one if he'd stocked it a few days earlier.

Great build mate. What type of shipping did you use to get it from the states this side of 2020? Lol. Shipping is just a pita at the moment from anywhere but melb.

What lipos will you run?

Cheers. The cheapest option is DHL, about US$42. At least it was quick without weeks of delay. It got here within 5 days.

I plan to use 850mah 4S to start with. May be even 1300mah 4S later but that would probably mean breaking arms with any crashes. Haha.

Lol, I hear you on that shipping cost. It’s a bugger but worth it. I’ve got so much stuff stuck in shenzen it ain’t funny. I’d whoop more but the mrs likes to swat them like flies lol.

The bonka 850mah 4s packs are great. I’d highly recommend them.

Swatting whoop..lol.

Thanks for the battery suggestion.

Hit and miss with shipping from China. My Mobula 6 from XT Xinte arrived in under 2 weeks ( $6 shipping ) while other stuff from BG took many weeks.

Finally flew this on Monday.

Very quiet, efficient ( 4.5-5 mins with 1300mah 4s compared to 3 minutes on 4 inch Armattan Gecko ) and floaty. Not a screaming speed machine. Due to less mass, there's less momentum to throw around with some of the moves.

All in all, pretty happy with it as it is stealthy in terms of noise and fly pretty well without any significant tuning ( D min off and turned on RPM Filter). Much prefer this to the analog RacerX ET5 ultralight.

I flew the ET5/1505 with HQ T5x3 bi blade first and Gemfan 5125 later. Lower pitch hum with bi blade. Not too loud. It felt a bit harder to control lower down the throttle range and 1505 motor struggles more with the 5" props for rapid movement. Like you said, could be better with 4023.
