FPV Monitor vs FPV Monitor DIY vs Spare Goggles
#1
Hey All,

I'm hoping to help my wife (and others) experience the fun of FPV more than just watching me fly around with my goggles on. I know there's a bunch of 7" Monitors available out there, but would prefer not to spend $120 or more to get one.

What do your 'audience' members prefer: A spare pair of cheap box goggles or a standalone diversity monitor/screen?

I have a spare AKK Receiver module running Achilles firmware, and thought maybe there's a product that would allow me to output that to a small screen? Or is it just better to pick up some cheap-o box goggles and go that route?

Ideally I'd like to spend less than $50 US if possible.

Thanks for the recommendations!

I use a cheap ROTG adapter and hook it to an old Android tablet

I wish they had something like this for DJI Goggles. I'd love to let my wife watch me crash live. Smile

No worries, that'll be $750 for a 'Smart' controller.

Hang on, what's that over there? https://intofpv.com/t-dji-fpv-goggles-video-out-hacked

Maybe you've pulled the plug already but just as note to everyone that may go with the ROTG, you must check smartphone/tablet compatibility with UVC drivers.
I had, until now, only ONE smartphone that worked with my ROTG adapter.
If you intend to plug it on the computer, that's OK, but on an android device, you have a really high chance that the adapter will not work.
It's not that expensive I know, but keep this in mind.

Both my redmi note 2 and current redmi note 9 don't work. To be fair, they are cheap smartphones.
My redmi note 5 with snapdragon processor (the only difference between the 3) worked.
My wife's old Huawei P9 Lite doesn't work also.
I've tried a bunch of stuff (again, cheap stuff) and most of them didn't work.

Just some info to guys that may encounter problems using the ROTGs.  Smile

It will also work with laptops though!

I had some trouble with USB bandwidth trying to run a HDMI camera capture and 3 of these in this video but this is with 2 ROTG02's.
