FPV Goggles - Personal opinions
#1
People ask about goggles all the time. Here's my personal opinions on all the ones I have tried.

For value, defintely the Quanum DIY Goggles V2. due to best price/value.. Literally almost all of my friends are rocking fatsharks, and I've tried them all but they just cant compare to the cinema experience (for me). Besides it's hooked up to an FR632. Nuff said

For quality, it should be the Dominator HD V2. the quality is a lot better then the Predator v2.

However I personally prefer the Dominator V2. I spent $30 on DVR upgrade making them essentially Dom HD V2's with a slightly smaller screen. (The upgrade saves your video but also it stops that format issue that causes the line across the bottom of some dvr recordings. And scientifically it does not change the clarity but I swear it seems a lil better even though I know that's just in my head.)

Headplay is too big to transport and not worth the money over Quanum V2

Dominator HD 1 or 2, not worth the price over Dom v2

Dom v3 has 16:9 aspect ratio which is a bit hard to get used to for those used to 4:3. some might say the V3 has a stretched image.. but i think it's just a matter of getting used to it... V3 also comes with faceplate, and better battery... for the V2 you have to pay extra for these

Attitude v2/v3 very good goggles, but don't have DVR. If you don't mind that, get a cheap used one, I think a new one is a bit over priced.

Skyzone. Great goggles I just don't like the way they fit on my head

Predators and teleporters, don't bother with them, image is pretty bad compared to others, and not many features.

Regarding the DomV2 DVR upgrade, is it just an extra capacitor on the module, so to avoid losing video when powering down goggles?

Just upgraded from Dom v2 to v3, The picture quality was worth it alone. I really enjoy the 16:9 aspect instead of the 4:3. The 720p quality when using the HDMI to fly liftoff or the like is wonderful. I upgraded mine already with diversity so that doesn't count. The upgraded dvr is another reason I really wanted to upgrade. I've lost many recordings due to not stopping the video prior to unplugging the battery.
