forward tilting angle
#1
hey folks

I have read Oscar's article:

https://oscarliang.com/tiny-whoop-angle-...ng%20angle.

the question :
Is the camera angle related to speed?

Or is it related to CLI

I mean, the more the angle of the camera is tilted = the higher the speed

Yes, basically more cameras angle means that to keep the horizon level in your vision and the quad aloft in the air, more speed must be applied. It's not that the quad gets faster, it's that you apply that speed in a forward direction more naturally than if the camera angle were lower.

I get it, the tilt has nothing to do with increasing speed, you need to increase it with CLI?

not with the cli.

the cam angle determinates the view, a 50deg angle does limit you to see the ground on a low speed and a 15deg angle does limit you to see anitjing else than the ground on lower speed.
its not adjustable by software.
lenses which provide more field of view does allow to get more different flightspeed with good focus where ig goes

Perhaps you are considering Oscar's text? :-

Code:
Set "Camera Angle" in the Configuration tab

Largely a personal preference, I usually set it to half of my actual camera angle, e.g. for 20 degree camera angle, I’d set it to 10.
This mixes pitch and roll into the yaw movement, it makes yaw control more natural and requires less stick input.
Some people prefer to turn this off for Acro mode, you can do so by enabling “FPV Angle Fix” in the modes tab, assign the same switch you use for Angle mode.

This and other text refers to what can be also direct CLI typed instructions.   Most people I know have only ever left that area of Betaflight on default.

A word of caution, while its best to read up and then experiment to find ALL the Betaflight settings and so determine what is best FOR YOU, be aware that for example with increasing camera angle / greater speed vision ability you can reach a point where landing at low speed/near hover is made more difficult as you will have little ground view. As with pretty much all Betaflight settings, little changes and testing, then more, then find your limit and back it back a little.

If you have watched DRL or one of the TV/Online race series you will have seen they use extreme camera angle, but they are taking off from angled launch pads and "landing" is a flat out crash into a netted catch pit!

I know the camera angle can't be changed from CLI

landing on a high pitch does require mouvement, it needs a yaw turn while landing to stay in control with the focus. it needs precise braking by yaw mouvement.
the most racing is done without catch pit, its not required.

i would suggest to hide anglemix, i liked the idea back than, but it was sooo different to fly :-) i tried it only for seconds :-)
