For FPVUK & BMFA Members - UK Drone Registration Deadline Extension
#1
For any UK pilots you who are members of the FPVUK or the BFMA (or the lesser known SAA or LMA clubs) and who were intending to cave in under pressure and register themselves as a UAS operator, the deadline which was originally set as 31st January 2020 and then further extended to 23rd February 2020, has now been extended yet again to 30th June 2020. So as an FPVUK members you can continue legally flying unregistered until July without having to hide in the bushes Big Grin

Details of this were released yesterday in a document #1345 of the Air Navigation Order 2016 under General Exemption E 5006. See the link below...

https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/1345.pdf

Maybe if enough people continue to forego registration and payment of this annual drone "tax" nonsense, then hopefully the penny will eventually drop with the CAA whereby they begin to realise they are haemorrhaging money hand over fist in trying to maintain and support a pointless drone registration system that no-one is signing up to, and as a consequence, end up scrapping the whole charade. We can only live in hope.

I registered and it wasn't that hard really Smile took me 30 minutes to go through the course and finish the test.
