Flysky fs-i6 help
#1
I'm still very new to drone building so bare with me. I just recently built my first drone I have a omnibus f4 v2 pro FC, emax blheli 20a esc's, but my real problem is with my radio. The radio is bound when I plug in quad I get telemetry back on screen of receiver, and solid red light on transmitter fs-ia6. Then no controls at all I have it set to ppm in BF, but nothing happens when I activate. I can manually run motors, but can't get radio to communicate. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Does the Omnibus F4 even support PWM? Maybe a picture of your setup would help us help you

I don't know if you're still following this, but you're problem is that the receiver you're using does not support PPM. Selecting it in Betaflight isn't enough, you also need the receiver to be able to "speak" it, so to say. The radio supports PPM but the receiver does not.

Here is the newest Flysky receiver - https://www.banggood.com/Flysky-X6B-2_4G...mds=search

This one supports Ibus, which is a better protocol to use than PPM. Set up is very easy as well, just 3 wires, and this receiver will do battery pack monitoring as well. If you go this route, report back and we can help you with the set up.

Flysky stuff is quite nice to use overall for the prices but can sometimes be confusing. The FS-i6 transmitter is a bit "older" and generally comes bundled with a older receiver - the FS-iA6 - which doesn't do iBus/sBus or PPM. It's this bundle on Banggood: https://www.banggood.com/FlySky-FS-i6-2_...mds=search

Then there's another bundle that comes with the FS-iA6B receiver. That receiver does iBus and PPM as well as the PWM six channels. It's this bundle on Banggood. https://www.banggood.com/FlySky-FS-i6-2_...mds=search

So obviously you need to find a way to cost effectively get a PPM or sBus or iBus signal to your flight controller. You can do this by buying any one of these receivers:
https://www.banggood.com/Flysky-2_4G-6CH...mds=search (this is the iA6B - its a chunky unit but will work fine with iBus and PPM)

https://www.banggood.com/Flysky-X6B-2_4G...mds=search (This is the newest receiver as Drross mentions. It will give you iBus and PPM options PLUS flight Battery voltage monitoring back to the Transmitter - it also can mount on a 30.5mm stack which could be handy)

https://www.banggood.com/Flysky-FS-A8S-2...mds=search (This one could be great for a really small build, no voltage monitor but it does iBus and PPM)

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-ia6c...eiver.html (I've used a few of these and they are quite good with PPM, iBus and sBus plus the voltage monitor input - they initially didn't come with leads but now do)

There are other receivers "out there" for the Flysky protocol but sticking to one of the above will just work with basically zero effort. In the transmitter you'll need to choose the output mode (iBus/sBus/PPM) for the receiver and naturally have the same setting on the Flight controller.

Some flight controllers don't like sBus signals (all to do with signal inverting and so on) but all will work with PPM.
