I know this question has been asked multiple times in more than a few places around the web. What I don't know is how to fix it because every discussion on the matter has been inconclusive. I'll update this if I find a solution and I'll be sure to share my findings.
Now that that's out of the way, the problem I and many others seem to have is with the radio seemingly not talking to the flight controller.
I have the RTF version of the Wizard X220 (not the X220S) For any who are uncertain, that means this version came with the radio and receiver pre-bound and connected to the flight controller. No problems there.
Out of the box aux channels were set to the knobs/dials which did nothing. ON THE RADIO I have set channel 5 to SWD and channel 6 to SWA because I feel those positions are ideal.
I have the model 1 version which to my knowledge is only different in that the throttle is on the right instead of the left.
PPM is on and i-bus is as it was out of the box (ch1)
FAILSAFE is set to channel 3 -99% (Seems to be as low as it goes on mine) and channel 5 is on
all other channels are set to off in the failsafe settings.
In type select I am set to Airplane/Glider
As I recall that's it for the radio side of thing. Now over to Betaflight
In Betaflight I have calibrated the accelerometer,
and set
-Gyro Update Frequency = 4KHZ
-PID Loop Frequency = 2KHZ
-Receiver set to Serial based receiver (IBUS) currently but doesn't work on PPM or PWM either
Under 'Other Features' I set
BLACKBOX to OFF and Airmode to on. All other settings in this section defaulted to OFF.
'ESC/Motor Features'
-ONESHOT125
-MOTOR STOP = OFF
-Minimum Throttle = 1045
-Maximum Throttle = 1990
'Board and Sensor Alignment'
-Yaw degree = 270
I haven't messed with PID tuning
And here are some screenshots to simplify the rest
https://i.imgur.com/jSBZi8g.png Sometimes AUX1 will show a bar but it is unaffected by RX inputs
https://i.imgur.com/G7XuJgt.png Same situation here. ANGLE is yellow which as far as I know means that it is activated but no switch on the radio affects it.
That's all I've got right now. If you require anything else to help please let me know. I'll likely be posting this in multiple communities/forums. Thank you in advance. Lets try to get this sorted out once and for all.
